Not so fun fact that I haven't heard before and just found out the hard way. If you attack with a mistress of pain w/ auchenai on the board you basically lose the game because it deals 30 points of damage to you, I don't know why it triggers 30x, but it does trigger 30x, because it not only killed me, but brought me to -3 and the only damage I took was a hellfire.
Yeah, they've announced it as an intended mechanic.

Speaking of priests, I just faced 5 in a row during lunch, I haven't seen that since mind control was 9 mana.

One of the best mechmage matchups, it's a good idea while reranking is a thing.

Anyone have a recommendation on a good, cheap, starter deck I can use to climb a bit in Ranked? Been doing arena to gain cards but its hella slow. Need something that doesnt require too much of an investment.

Worse than Cancer Hunter
Mech Mage

Alternatively, look up "Trump Basic XXX deck" where XXX is the class you prefer.

My best, most successful deck is my zoolock deck by far. It's actually not bad because it is more than just face, face, face like hunter. But it's still nowhere near as fun as midrange or control decks. Those decks just don't win as often though.

The 20% Amazon coins deal is on again, or still, they emailed about it again and Tempostorm put it in a new post so I assumed it had expired and now its active again.

The only thing that brings me pleasure in this game anymore is running double kezan mystic and causing mages and hunters to insta concede.

Actually been having a decent time laddering with a tempo priest deck I made, its been fairly successful and its fun when your opponent doesn't know what to expect, and most games are over by turn 8 so win or lose its not so painful to lose to an rng element.

Yea, my current deck I play most of the time would probably be considered a Tempo Priest as well - couldn't get past 8 last month, but still great for early ladder and knocking out quests. Probably could get tweaked to get deeper if I felt like going more netdeck route though.

I've been using this Priest Tempo deck for a bit and I think it's awful. Ready to abandon it. What are you guys using?

I agree with this weeks Tempostorm meta snapshot article, Oil Rogue is the best deck for the ladder atm. But it's a hard deck to play properly, so you don't see a lot of it as people stick with mech mage and hunter. If you're willing to basically autolose the oil rogue matchups, I think priest is a good answer to a mage/hunter heavy ladder.

I made the oil rogue deck and I must be terrible. I have like a 30% win rate. Every stream I watch they get the perfect flow of cards and just decimate games... I queue up and get double sprint and a violet teacher or some shit as my starting hand. WTF am i supposed to be doing??

I'm the same, oil rogue is a great deck but I obviously don't know how to play it because I just don't win with it. I think my problem is I'm always waiting for the combo and by the time I'm able to get it, i'm already dead or the game is pretty much over.

On the other hand, I tried out Salty Mage and I'm surprised how many opponents have had a problem with it.

Main issue I'm seeing with your low end (IMO Tempo Priest can do almost anything at the top end) are a few things - 1) More cheap spells to do wipes with Pyromancer, Mechwarper doesn't do much at all here and Shrink is situational as hell without any SW:p, I see alot of Spellpower with only 2 spells that would take advantage.

Two things I'd suggest on the high end is Vol'jin and Auchenai x2 - Vol'jin + Smite or Vol'jin + 2 open mana with a Auchenai already out is an instant kill on anything targettable - add bounce parts and you can get multiple uses.

Or in short - lowend needs more fuel for the Pyro to exploit - high end there's flexibility but I'd suggest Vol'jin and Auchenai be part of it.

I was using this Priest deck last month, which worked very well in the first half of the month. It should probably work well now because it hard counters mech mage:

It will lose against Control Warrior 95% of the time. You can win if they use all their in-hand removal by turn 7 and you can get an 18/2 Lightwarden out with Pyro + Circle, but otherwise just concede if they armor up on 2.

Against Freeze Mage, save Light of the Naaru and Death for the inevitable Alexstraza, and you'll win.

Druids have a similar win condition as Warriors (Lightwardens), but they're far easier to actually make happen.

Rogues were about 50% in my experience; if you got a good board of minions and they didn't have both of their Blade Flurries by turn 8, then I'd win.

Demonlock you win with good Vol'jin and Auchenai + Light of the Naaru use.

Hunters will fall easily unless they get an amazing draw and you get shit.

Oil doesn't seem to be as heavy in the meta so far this season at least up to rank ten. I'm barely seeing any now but last month they were everywhere. I can't stand playing decks like that myself, never liked playing miracle either. And I agree it seems many times when I face one everything goes perfectly for them, but if I try to play it I get skunked mercilessly. I'm sure that evens out with more practice and simple numbers of games played, but I give up on it quickly.
