As someone who's now playing ranked more(as in, more than when my quest log is full and arena won't finish any of them) because they've added something more than a card back, I kinda don't want them to nerf patron warrior. Let me be clear, pulling off those combos with the grim patron or frothing berserker is cheesy and it feels bad sometimes. But I love how cohesive the deck is, and how much fun it is setting the pieces up.

I imagine this is somewhat similar to how miracle rogue played, but I never(still don't) had to cards to even attempt it. Which is probably the other reason I like the deck. A competitive deck past rank 15 that doesn't cost thousands of dust. I swore off ladder because getting beat by people at lower ranks just because they have better cards is not fun. The stratification of ladder is a huge problem and grim patron warrior helps disrupt that.

It is an OP deck, no question. But if gets people like me to look forward to playing ladder, maybe that's a good thing.

Yep, that first paragraph is how playing miracle rogue felt. Really loved that deck more than any other I've played in HS.

They adjust Warsong to only able to charge 3 attack, and below minions and it normalizes.None of this buff shit charging. It will still stay extremely strong.

Right now it's a miracle deck for retards. Alpha Miracle rogue was just as retarded...

I'm not sure I agree. Unless you get a really broken start, you win most of your matches against control with a big frothing turn. If you can't charge your frothings, the deck loses a ton of oomph. Also, not being able to attack with your inner raged patron when you combo off is a big deal too. You can attack face before you inner rage, but that's not an option if he has a taunt on the field.

I don't know if Patron even can be meaningfully nerfed without destroying the deck.

Varian Wrynn is interesting, because god knows control warrior is pretty light on card draw, but man would it suck to get Alex or Nefarian dropped onto the field without their battle cry. Major tempo play sure, but you lose so much value by losing a big battlecry. Rhonin is clever and will definitely be experimented with, but I don't know if he'll end up in any decks after a month or two.

Best way to nerf warsong is to only give charge to played minions, so the first patron would get charge but any spawned ones do not.

It fits mechanically with other cards already printed and doesn't completely remove the bite from patron.

8 mana for a 7/7 is slow, and if he gets silenced you lose pretty much all his value. I'm not confident enough to say he won't be played, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't make the cut in any decks.

Maybe freeze mage would run him, since that's the only mage deck that is slow enough to run that big a creature and can also run Antonidas, but even that's iffy. Since Freeze Mage can't really protect its creatures and is such a slow paced deck, odds are your opponent will have a BGH in hand for a couple turns by the time you're ready to play him, in which case you're basically running a card that says 8 mana: probably draw three arcane missiles. There is some tactical consideration to playing him first to protect Alex from BGH though.

That would absolutely destroy patron. All you are adjusting is giving cards like frothing no opportunity to take a full life pool while all your other minions destroy any defense.

You don't need Frothing to win in patron, it is the card that puts it over the top in conjuction with the other cards in the deck.

Antonidas already has synergy with spare parts the coin and arcane missles I don't think it needs an 8 cost war golem that needs to die to give you value.

I don't really see the value in him compared to Doctor Boom who has the same body and immediate effect with his doombots and barring spell triggers doombots actually do a very similar function to arcane missles. All for one less mana.

Everything in this expansion is slow, which in my opinion is the funner version of the game. BUT, we already know fast, face decks destroy slow decks. So, you can introduce all the cool, slow cards you want, but unless they directly counter fast decks, you are not creating anything new that is competitive.

It is a whole bunch of, "wtf is the point?"

This is shaping up to be GvG again imo. It's amazing they are so good on the adventure packs, and the larger stockpiles of cards they miserably fail at.

I think most "tribal" stuff is a flop unless they dedicate an entire set to it like they did with Mechs. I mean if they print a few murlocs and few pirates and a few dragons every set eventually the card pool will be fleshed out.

Also, that hunter card is aids.

Rhonin is hot garbage unless there's some amazing synergy someone figures out. Terrible in freeze mage. Might work in some spellpower deck with maly and anton. But 7 attack and 8 cost for him is just terrible.

There is a few cards that just bring out random cards in your deck and just toss them on the field though. Recently Magic did this a block ago and it does surprisingly well. You have to run some risks for a bit and then when you unleash it's like a 1 turn kill.

Not saying this is going to change Hearthstone up or anything but I can see them trying to emulate that a little bit.
