I have absolutely every faith in the nerd gamer community to solve this game if they haven't already.
what a blanket statement, that's every nerd card game ever made...

If you want a real card game play something that matters, like Poker.

It's basically solved. I mean, locked 30 cards, static (mostly) resource gain, small card pool, it's not that surprising.

And yes, some classes are better than others for arena, but some classes are also just better in general (looking at you rogue). Warrior being a shitbird isn't exclusive to one particular game mode. The point is though, with the otherwise limited strategy available given the mechanics and card pool, arena is about the only way to actually inject more skill in to the game at this point. Just because you're terrible at it or can't use your beloved Ysera doesn't mean it isn't the obviously superior game mode.

I have 53 current wins in arena, and my beloved Abomb came from a pack from one of those win streaks.

Also if you acutely played this game, which I'm doubting at this point, you would know almost every arena draft comes with Ysara rofl. That's how stupid that draft is.
You know how I got 53 wins in arena, playing decks built by people that have allready figured it out since most of the same rideculous cards come up every time.

Keep thinking your precious MTG takes any skill. =)

When you are ready to play a real game the Poker tables are waiting.

You didn't quote everything that I said. You left out the very, very important part where I state that Mist has the right of it. Let's go back and look at what Mist had to say again -

The game is incredibly low-variance with 30 card decks and preset resource development. For low variance games like this, the metagame will always be based around what are effectively combo strategies with low-interactivity. And with the extremely low variance this game has, it's quite possible that these low-interactivity combo decks will be mathematically solvable.
I've been playing games for more than a quarter century. There is not a single thing about Hearthstone that doesn't reek of a game that can be solved. Do you honestly not know what gamers are capable of?

All these kid games have been solved, what universe do you live in?

Youve been playing unbalenced kid games for a quarter of century, is this any suprise to you that they can all be broken??

Right, so you don't even know what side of the argument you are on anymore. You completely flew off the handle over some pretty reasonable criticisms and you've not only gotten into a huff over some perceived Us vs. Them competition with Magic but you've also further subdivided the players down to Constructed vs Arena (and no one takes draft seriously lol noob).

I actually regret even posting now. You have made me regret involving myself in this conversation. At one point I went to cancel my World of Warcraft account completely out of reflex and I haven't had an active account in years.

MTG isn't solvable. Not even remotely solvable. The game is considered extremely difficult by braceleted WSOP players, chess grandmasters, etc. There's thousands of cards in most formats, extremely high variance, and very little in the way of purely objective card evaluations. Cards have too many variables, too many possible ways they can impact the board, interact with each other and various zones of play. Hearthstone has absolutely none of that, with a very limited set of ways cards can interact with each other. It's pretty easy to evaluate which cards are just straight up better than other cards, because cards just don't have that many axis of comparison.

Are you really comparing MTG to chess? I know that just didn't happen

You can tell yourself what you want about MTG, but its another kids game that's broken as fuck.

And calm your tits, no one said Hearthstone is as complex as MTG. Good lord, you are like the DOTA faggots, and hearthstone is LOL.
I like how you think MTG was the first card game ever created, and everything came out of that.

Every post is you nerdgasming on how much better MTG is. We don't care....go play MTG

Not to derail the back and forth whining and nagging, but my google-fu is turning up nothing on 'mongo decks.' Please advise.

Mongo is just a term from wow pvp.

To go all out like a mongoloid.

You are looking for Burst dps decks or Top decks. They call them so many things it would be hard to google it specifically.
If you are looking for deck builds just go to this site, and find the most high rated ones for your class.

http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks?filte...t=-datecreated

Burst decks usually have lots of low level creatures with damage multiplying buff cards. For instance a murlock deck is a mongo deck.

This is an example of a mongo deck for a hunter.

The fact that the Hearthstone community is apparently categorizing decks according to WoW terms which make absolutely zero sense (burst dps!) instead of TCG terms (aggro decks, weenie decks, low curve decks) indicates that they have no idea what they are talking about.

It's a bunch of WoW arena faggots thinking they know how to play CCGs, it's really cute.

Fuckin burst dps, el oh el.

For those still waiting to play the game, sounds like we won't have open beta with the patch, but they'll be doing more and larger opt-in waves.

"The wipe in closed beta is very important to us, and marks a pretty big milestone that we hope a lot of you can be excited about.

First off, wipes aren't super fun. In fact, they are negative fun. We chose to wipe in the closed beta at this point so we can impact as few people as possible. We understand that wiping data in Hearthstone may cause some frustration for people, but we anticipated having to do this since day one. Wiping will allow us to balance classes and carefully monitor that balance with a bigger player pool.

A bigger player pool? What? Well, after the wipe and patch that goes with it, we'll be on different hardware than we were before. I'll spare you the boring behind-the-scenes details, but we were limited in the amount of people we could invite to the first part of closed beta just due to these hardware limitations. With this patch and wipe, we'll be making some serious transitions into hardware that can accommodate a larger pool of players. TLDR: Brace yourselves, the opt-ins are coming.

It'll be a process-the gates won't swing wide open right away, since we still need to make sure this hardware can hold up to the punishment we're about to inflict upon it. However, as we invite more players to the closed beta test, the feeling of "hey, he's in closed beta now and I'm not so he has a big advantage!" will diminish greatly since those players that have that small amount of play time "benefit" will soon be in the vast minority."

Bet I still have to wait for open beta

Did someone just go full retard and try and compare Hearthstone/MtG with poker?
More like if you are going to bitch about how all these kiddie card games are broken go play a game that is not.
There is a reason the House will kick you off blackjack tables for counting cards which is a game that is 100% breakable with the simplest of math. You could teach a 3rd grader to count cards.
Yet the Casino will still allow you to play all the games that are not...
You inbred piece of shit.

And to the MTG fags that are still complaining.

It doesnt matter what they call there decks, you will find something to bitch about.

If they call them by MTG slang then you will just say, look how cute hearthstone is it's trying to be MTG.
If they don't then you still bitch as the above comments from you mouthbreathers demonstrate.

I'm sure out of the 10,000 + beta testers, none of them have ever played MTG, and are all wow pvp'ers.....

Can we talk about Hearthstone now?????? Enough with the MTG vs HS Bullshit.

This thread should be about Class discussions, whats broken in Beta etc.. You subhumans are just making it hard for anyone to find any info in this thread.

You started this shit and now you're just butthurt everyone is pointing out how ridiculous you are.

Ain't much to talk about for hearthstone right now anyway until the wipe happens. Rogues gonna rogue, warriors gonna suck.
