I'm pretty sick and tired of cards with random abilities. Just finished a 8-3 run on a Shaman where I had another Shaman dead to rights on turn 7. He had 12 life left with a lone Defender of Argus on the board. I pass turn to him with a 7-7 Earth Elemental, 4-4 Unbound Elemental, a Flametounge Totem, and a Stoneclaw Totem. He plays Mind Control Tech and takes my Earth Elemental. GFG. Shit like that makes me far more irate than just losing normally.

Always play aggro til at least rank 10 or so. Fast games when you win, fast games when you lose, less headache in general.

All golden cards work like that. Defias Ringleader makes golden Defias Thug. Golden Leeroy makes golden Whelps, golden Thoughtsteal makes the stolen cards golden, etc.

Sometimes playing ranked is just hilarious. Played a cleric that has insane card draw. He was basically drawing cards every turn (including with Pagle). Problem is either a) he didn't know what he was doing or b) had crap cards (or so it seemed) because none of that card draw helped him against my offense (warrior). He drew his entire deck and still lost 25-0.

Priests are like that sometimes. You have a lot of cards that are highly dependent on 3 or less attack, or 5 or more, or 2 or less, etc. Some people build whole decks with nothing but those cards and then... oops.

I think I'm just getting bored with the game but each Ranked season is getting more and more frustrating for me. I know a part of it is that people are getting better cards at this game and getting better cards to go along with that.

Right now 95% of the decks you face are Hunter Rush or some variation of Warlock Rush (Reynad decks ALWAYS become heavily played). I do agree that playing rush is, generally, the best way to rank up but it's a lot more frustrating when you face the same 2 decks over and over again.

I have a mediocre looking priest deck that is at 7 and 2 right now, I just played a match against a mage who was ahead the first half of the game and then I pulled ahead late game and won. Looked at the name and it was Trump! My first time playing against him.

I dont even have those cards and just casual along, but that logic is flawed unless you account for the spent cards. You gain additional board advantage with the bird and stuff but you do spend the cards.

I'm with ya. It's getting to the point where you just start seeing the same stuff over and over again. I think that's one of the reasons why most play Arena, at least there is the chance at some variety there due to drafting. It also has a lot to do with the card pool. It's not very big and there are a certain percentage of cards that are complete garbage that you'll never see in play. I think once they introduce more cards (more heroes?) than it'll get a little more varied in ladder. Blizzard is also caught in this crossroads where they want the game to be competitive but want to balance towards the casual (fun) player.

It very well may not have been "Trump" but just someone with the same name (but different numbers on the battletag). He hasn't been streaming as he's been in other parts of the world, so no real way to know.

Just found out also, if you steal a golden card with a non-golden Thoughtsteal, the stolen card will be non-golden. Just had my golden Al'Akir stolen and played against me non-golden.

It never did get Flamestriked though it would be a glorious one.

This one did get Flamestriked but he couldn't follow up with a Polymorph or Fireball next turn so the Yeti kept me ahead. He was a step behind every turn thereafter until his loss. If he's holding Flamestrike AND Polymorph or Fireball, I could very well be in trouble I admit but hey, them's the breaks. It ain't perfect but both of these games were wins.
