Always funny to see some of the more dumb plays, especially in arena. Playing against Pally, I pulled out Rag on turn 8 (already had a defias on the board), which in turn hit him (instead of his minion) in the face. Brings his health down to 6. He plays Truesilver, dread cosair and a molten giant with zero mana. He then proceeds to attack Rag with his weapon....
I do this all the time. It's called showing you what was in my hand before I gg and concede my face into your Ragnaros for giggles. I consider it a friendly 'good game' gesture but no, actually it turns out, I'm a moron.

I'm a fan of fireblasting myself (if possible). I only concede if the person is taking too long to finish me, or I'm feeling pissy about the game ("Finish your daily quest in your next game, bitch." etc).

I don't concede if my opponent has done something Dennis-like earlier in the game that makes me think he might not see lethal, otherwise I'll suicide/concede a hopeless situation. The rare exception is if my opponent decides to spam the shit out of emotes, in which case I will decide I need a drink or a trip to the bathroom and go AFK.

I do wish they had an auto squelch button tho. I squelch everyone because there really is no point in a match where I care what they are going to say.

That and an away status so people can't friend you when they want to nerd rage.
At first I thought it was cute, but that wore off after a month. Now it's just an annoyance having to delete their request.

I would like auto-squelch and the ability to choose whether you go first or second should you win the toss.

The random chatter the heroes spit out as you take your turn is also something I don't need to see any more.

by winning the toss you mean going first?

If so He has to basically make the decision on if he plays ,or not versus you making that decision.
That can be advantageous in a lot of instances.

I've feedbacked this many times beginning in early beta. Makes no sense to give me the ability to squelch, and not let me save a mouse click every game with a perma-squelch toggle.

When I was new to the game I thought it was an advantage to hear them taunt because It helped me know what was coming, but as you get more advanced you realize the only opponent you are fighting is "RNG" because at enough played games you are going to stop making mistakes, and always play your deck perfectly.

The human element is pretty much nill at a point. If they make mistakes you are not going to change your strat anyway. Them making mistakes is just like the RNG gods giving you an extra card.

That's a very strange way of looking at things. At any given moment you have all of these choices about what to play and play against and everything your opponent does and does not do is potential information that can be used to put them the cards in their hand or the exact flavoring of their deck. Sure, at some point the purely mechanical mistakes are going to become less and less frequent but to reduce the game down to a series of random events is simplistic. The game has buffs and gambits and gamesmanship. It may not have quite as much of that as I would like and there are definitely games where it doesn't feel like anyone gets to make any decisions but the human element is present nonetheless.

Yeah, but I don't need the taunts to clue me into any of that.
I've been playing for close to a year, and it is a very simplistic game imho. To me the only fun left is building decks in arena, and honestly you can simplify that down as well.
Even getting Legendary is just a series of what time to play, and when not to. Then it's just how many games you need to play everyday, and with what decks.

The game is heavily based off of random card generation, and heavy on openers. You can only limit those random cards coming in by your playstyle, and the way you build your deck.
Based off that you are never really going to change your strat against the class's deck you are facing.

The other day I well played someone without realizing I didn't have enough mana for my combo finisher. I had been looking at his mana pool which was at 10. Still ended up winning, but god damn I felt stupid.

Then I agree with you. I don't think seeing someone's taunts serves any useful purpose either.

Ladder is a fucking train wreck right now.
Switching to the fatty Hunter deck from a cycling/trap heavy Hunter instantly fixed my miserable Druid match up and bad Warrior match up. Where before I had completely capped at rank 7 or 8 bemoaning my lack of Leroy I've been doing nothing but climbing. Feels like I'm favored versus everything people were playing a week ago.

What's funny is looking back when Heartstone started in season 1. I really argued with Mist because he saw the game exactly how I see it now.

Mist had way more experience with CCG's so it was easy for him to see it very clearly.
He claimed it was a fun game but very simplistic, and solveable.

That's not to say it isn't fun for a lot of people, but it's never going to be a skilled based game at it's highest levels imho.

I've requested friends with a few people in the hopes of asking them their deck. To my knowledge no one has accepted a request from me. foreveralone.jpg

In other news, I really want to make a mage deck work, but I'm having very streaky wins and losses. I got up to 4 star 14 and deranked to 2 star 16, then won 4 in a row and am now somewhere in 13.

Honestly, zoo and agro aren't giving me too many problems. Any time I face a priest I'm tempted to auto concede though. Shamans and other Mages are 50/50.

Any pro tips?

Your deck is a bit all over the place. You should either tighten it up into something similar to what Trump ran last season, or you should go towards old school frost mage control. Either way I think the secrets and the secret based creatures are bad.

What is the fatty hunter deck?
