Is anything over 6 mana that doesn't immediately effect the board unplayably bad? I'd like to know your criteria.
There may be one or two exceptions, but yes, this is an accurate statement. Was that supposed to be a trick question?

Gahz could become borderline playable if the meta underwent a pretty dramatic shift (i.e. Undertaker was nerfed out of existence) but I would consider it more likely for Hunter to just be considered unplayable.

Nope, just a class that has several ways to *easily* turn this into 10 damage on turn 2, before your opponent can react. I think it'll be changed to a 2/3. It's a bit absurd and seems to go against their "vision". It should honestly have Overload: (1) as it is now.
I would be thrilled if it was changed to a 2/3, since that would make it an even stronger card.

There's just no synergy with Gahz in the current Hunter toolkit, but maybe Hunter will get more control-type cards with the rest of GvG?

No. Like I said, for other classes he would actually be pretty good. But right now, hunters don't want to drop something and just pass. Savannah Highmane is an exception due to beast synergy and the deathrattle effect. But the higher the cost, the greater the need for immediate value on a card.

Nah, just a question. I wasn't calling you wrong, I just was asking.

I think unplayably bad might be an overstatement. It certainly doesn't fit the current hunter meta, but the current Hunter meta will change.

Everyone is talking about possible combos with this hunter card, and it all just seems so unlikely to happen most of the time... like call pet Gahz, call pet Tundra rhino, elven archer/arcane shot x2 + abusive sergeant for OTK etc... lol

I wasn't being sarcastic. But I can admit that I may not be accurate with my assessment. I don't value windfury as highly as the rest of you, but perhaps it will be OP as you all expect. 2 health minions are insanely easy to remove and imo there are more valuable 2 drops for shaman and this minion will have a hard time finding room except to have synergy in a mech deck. This minion will be playable in a Shaman rush deck but you'll need to have a solution for card draw if you plan to create one. Shaman are notoriously bad for card draw.

Regarding the hunter card:
6/9 is yet another legendary that is "sticky" simply by being a 6/9, but this one is is easier to BGH since opponent can just damage it then BGH same turn. On the otherhand, 7 mana is actually quite good and allows for some flexibility. Combo with Kill Command or UTH/Hunter's Mark or Freezing Trap, etc to try and get board control during the same turn you play it.

I don't think Gahz is that bad. I think there's some potential there, but I hope the meta changes. Although with the Hunter hero ability I think Blizzard cornered themselves when it comes to Hunters, it's as if they will always be motivated to create fast/face decks. It'd be cool to see a more interactive hunter.

I feel like the NA meta is already shifting against the current hunter builds but it might just be the past few days. If so, expect a hunter nerf since they always bring one after people are getting countered more and then someone will parlay the changes into yet another new hunter disease!

Except there is no hard counter to generic midrange Huntertaker that most people are playing like there was to old unleash the bullshit hunter. Even my to the face anti-hunter hunter deck isn't a hard counter. I'd say I'm as much as 65% favored in the mirror match, and the trade in is that version of hunter is hard-countered by control warrior.

I expect Undertaker to get even worse in the aftermath of GvG, then the nerf will come along. If Undertaker is lucky, it will become like a mana wyrm but for deathrattles instead of spells.

Why would you use abusive for 2 extra attack when damaging ghaz doubles it. I was thinking the same thing, but having a tundra rhino survive a turn and then having 4 specific cards in your hand is never going to happen, 3 may be good enough ghaz and combination of 2 archers/arcane shot to double from 6 to 12 and 12 to 24, but even that aint happening.

That Shaman card is really good, burst Shaman is already a really strong deck in a lot of match ups and the two drops it runs suck ass by comparison.

OTK with Ghaz woud be pretty epic. Pyromancer+Hunter's Mark to get rid of taunts, also damages Ghaz, Tundra Rhino for the charge. The Dream.

If you have Tundra rhino out, you can Ghaz + Wildfire + hunters mark + arcane Ghaz to get him up to 48 damage!
