I've tried shaman a couple times since GvG. Maybe I got bad drafts and don't know how to play the class correctly. Bunch of overload shit and no fire elementals.

I like playing Priest in arena but I'll admit they are not the best class by any means. You can run deep with the right draft but are equally likely to be begging for three wins.

Shaman? My favorite after Pally/Mage. Hero power is strong, only problem is the luck of the draw in terms of class cards. There are a lot of strong ones but sometimes you whiff of course. I'll take all the fire elementals though!

I've always had much success with rogue in arena, I mean its TWO! mage hero powers for the price of one, how can you go wrong?

Everyone says Pally is great in Arena and it makes sense, but I'm just terrible with it. I've never had a Pally deck go more than four wins. I don't know why I'm so bad with it.

Paladin arena is mainly about getting to the late game. It's an uphill battle for your opponent with your hero ability. And because of Blessing of Kings and other buffs, they can almost never risk leaving a squire or any other creature up. You have to learn when and how to use your hero ability with Paladin, and how to conserve resources.

It's also about getting lots of 2 for one value trades with shit like truesilver and argent protector, and the fact that your opponent sort of has to play around consecrate whether you drafted any or not.

My experience with teaching people to play Paladin in arena suggests the #1 thing most people do wrong is not making enough dudes. Turn 10, you play an 8 drops and have 2 mana left over. Do you make a dude or put down the 2 drop you have in your hand? 99% of the time the correct answer is make a dude. You have a one health minion left on the field after efficient trading with a Mage. He is going to ping that shit off, 100%. So you make a dude, because now your dudes are one ahead of his pings. I don't care what you have in hand, make a dude. Paladin hero ability is the best late game one. So make sure you get to late game and keep making dudes.

Priest is actually really good in arena atm (Kripp made a video about this which I basically agree with). I've gone 12 wins on everything but Warrior since GvG. Mage is still so far at the top it is silly. I'd put Warlock/Druid/Priest/Rogue/Shaman in no particular order somewhere in the middle. Draft a good deck and you'll do fine, unless you run into your class counters, get shitty RNG, etc. Hunter and Warrior you either get a really good deck, or you lose really hard. Moreso for Warrior than Hunter, because at least Hunter can go face and hope their hero power puts them over the top. People have already covered Paladin so I'll just say I agree, it is probably 2nd best.

My problem with Shaman is lightning storm is a rare. Makes it unlikely you get one and it is their only board clear. Fire Elementals make up for this, to a degree.

Ive been playing for close to 2 months now. I did naxx and bought around 30 classic pack. Thats more than 75$. I got 0 legendary except those from naxx. How am i supposed to do any better than rank 15 or so in constructed without having those high end cards. I m terrible at arena and i dont know why. Im not really interested in gvg cards anyway, considering the bunch of cards Im already missing from classic. At rank 16-15, mostof the people i play against seem to all have those high end cards which most of the Time makes the diff?rence.

From my arena experience lately, it seems to me that Priest beats Mage, Paladin beats Priest, and Mage beats Paladin. Rogue is hit or miss depending on if you're able to draft your removal or not. I'd definitely rank Warrior at the very bottom. I think the best Warrior run I've had since GvG came out was 6-3. Conversely most of my 10-12 win runs since GvG have been with Priest.

You get cards by either buying packs or being good in Arena, If you are "terrible at arena" then you won't get cards that way so you should either

A. Get better at Arena
B. Buy packs.
C. Play Zoo/Hunter

Do the huntertaker deck. Super cheap and easy wins. About 10% of games you get a turn 1 undertaker, opponents will concede, lol

Keep in mind, your competition, based on my unscientific findings, is likely easier now than they will be in a few hours.

Well 15-10 can sometimes be easier than 20-15 because that is where the golden portrait farmers play.

My problem is that you usually draft to have most of your cards around turns 4-6, but then you get matched against hunter who, if they drafted to go for the face, can get you down to like 10 health by then which means it's gg. If I don't do that and get enough early game, I get matched with people who actually have board resets flushing my whole board down the toilet ...

I've been playing for a couple weeks now. Just had my first no-win arena run. Went with rogue which is a class I'm not super familiar with. Lost to 2 pally's and a hunter. Coincidentally, it was the first run that I used Hearth Arena to help me draft. Didn't get many of those combo cards. Had one eviscerate that never made it to my hand. Had 2 assassinates, but they weren't timely enough. Had a Fel Reaver, but it hurt more than it helped. I probably shouldn't have played it against a paladin - he hit it with humility and burned a ton of my cards and I fatigued out. Live and learn I guess.

That's 2 runs in a row I've tried Rogue and ended with 1 win and 0 wins. This has knocked my average arena wins down to exactly 3. I'll be avoiding rogue in the future if I can help it!

Thats a natural response to getting burned, but it's a mistake. I had sort of the opposite problem when I started playing. Warrior was my go-to class for arenas because I had a few lucky drafts that made the class seem better than it was. Took a bit before I realized the class is trash in arena and stopped picking it.

Rogue can be a tricky class to play. There's a fine line between when you need to play the tempo game and when you need to go for the face. This is especially true since the hero power promotes you to attack, but there aren't any heals/armor in the class cards so you really have to know when it's best to poke a minion or poke face or save a dagger charge.
