Correct, I think it's tied to highest ever normal arena, but it could be current too. I just auto loose in arena with my worst heroes because of this. Plus I get "arena" award from Grand Arena since they share a reward. This makes crusade fairly easy.
My current arena team is pretty different from others:
Rifleman
Chaplin
Cloud Walker
SHallows
Then I rotate(commando, ice mage, phoenix, disease bringer, cleric, pilot, or ember accordingly to work against the other team)
Trick for countering a phoenix is to either burn them super fast or save a stun/silence type ult and cast it immediately after he starts ult(or during the animation if you pay attention)

The top team is what I use for most. On the tricky ones towards the end of the crusade I'll pop in Pheonix to burn down a round. I never do a full team swap.
Ultimately retreat is your friend. You can turn wipes into flawless kills with full life pretty often

Arena rank has no bearing at all, or very little if any. I've tested this theory a few times. I believe from what I've read that it's based on the power rank of your strongest heroes.
For my DM setup:
DM
OC
FM
Mystic
Any other DPS (healer when needed)
My strategy:
Rd 1: I put a tank in to absorb some hits letting DM charge up.
Round 2-5 - Remove Tank and put in Chaplin to build up energy and will swap DPS(s) to build up their charges (mainly Phoenix)
6-10 - DM destroys other team
11-15 - It all depends on the luck of the team draw, but I would use my backup team to weaken the opponent if fairly strong. If you have Phoenix fully charged, you essentially will win 3 rounds. Can't stress how OP he is and get him to 4* as quick as you can.
Oh as other people have stated: Retreat is your friend. Use it...often.

Fits very well with a magic team, mainly due to the Magic buff PS (his US is pretty decent too). That plus the FM magic debuff your DM will shred the opponent.

Plus he casts the ability that gives energy to a hero (really good for HM), and blinds which drastically reduces physical damage. He's all around solid for HM crusade, plus he sticks in back so he doesn't get killed like FM can.
But your strat and team is exactly what I use. I do sub in a bit more from 12-15 to counter some builds, but otherwise spot on with my strat

I've bought 20 gem chests so far, and I've had some shitty luck with heroes. I finally got a good hero from Crusade (Death Mage).

No, she doesn't but that's not really why she is good. What is that set up for, pvp? She's honestly not the best for pvp, she is mainly a crusade hero to replace death knight as tank at higher levels

If you go to the ucool message boards someone always posts it in advance. I think by setting their clock forward to see what it is.
5200 dragon coins today, that's over 50 soulstones (not counting resets). It was like the fifth crusade in a row without a purple or hero drop though
I got 60 succubus stones as a reward from a chest yesterday in crusade.

Basically they are a set of 5ish encounters that require certain hero types to complete, such as one that can only be damaged by DoTs and one that freezes everyone that isn't flying.
They drop 7-10 reel pieces, and can do it twice a day. They really require certain heroes to complete each one

I'm still struggling with all the Phoenix's in Crusade. I can handle 1 or maybe 2 in a row, but any more than that and my Chaplain just cannot keep up with the team-wide damage I take. My team goes into each following stage weaker and weaker.
So, my question is which is more rewarding... going 15/15 normal crusade or like 11/15 on hard?
Also, I'm at team level 46. Is it worth it to use a lvl 43 3* merc DK or just stick with my lvl 46 3* Ironhoof (still talking Crusade)? If the DK was 46, I would for sure use him, but I'm just not sure how much that 3 level hit will hurt his effectiveness.
