Yea seems like they didn't give out too many more keys. Granted I base that on the 6 or 7 bnet friends I have that have been opted in but haven't been invited yet.

Blue posts have confirmed no keys went out when the servers came back online. They want to test the stability on the new hardware/network before adding more people. At this point I almost assume they won't add until Blizzcon when it probably moves into closed beta shortly after.

that's pretty lame because im dying to give this a shot, even though I know its probably going to suck or fall short of what I had in mind, but with what I read here it has its traditional moba aspects but all in all seems very different.

and of course I just want to play some of my favorite blizzard characters such as diablo and Kerrigan.

Blizzard and it's infinite resources still take longer than any other dev to do........anything at all. This has been in alpha forever and they've barely added any heroes. With the cancellation of titan this shits development better be kicked into warp speed.

Edit: nvm, I think the dayz standalone team easily has them beat in shitty dev time.

You only say that because the alpha release of this game was more fleshed out and full featured than almost every "early access release" game I've been conned into buying on Steam. But as a quick rundown of things added:

* Numerous heroes added
* Numerous heroes reworked
* Garden of Terror map
* Reworks to Haunted Mines map
* 2 complete UI overhaul
* Ingame stats/talents UI
* Artifacts in, artifacts removed
* Addition of hero specific leveling
* Gold-per-play model

And I'm sure tons more I'm forgetting

Azguldan is my #1 new bro. it's so god damn entertaining to drop people running away with a long range slam. PS if anyone ever wants to group up my bnets in my sig.

I've been high on ranged assassins lately. Which is weird because they used to be my most hated class. Tychus and Raynor specifically. I should probably learn how to play a good Valla as well.

Tychus is great fun. Nova is my go to assassin at the moment, she just obliterates people. What have you been doing with Raynor to make him effective? He feels so gimp at the moment, which is weird because before I stopped playing a few months ago I remember him being at least decent.

I've watched a game or two of LoL, but the games are so long that I never really spectated. Team Liquid just announced their team, with Sheth as captain (I think? It doesn't explicitly say it in the link)Team Liquid Heroes. Anyways, there's a good probability that I'll watch this game as it's a lot of fun and I think pretty easy to watch.

Raynor is the most positional dependent carry in the game IMO. Since he lacks basically any form of escape and you have to tool him to make his escape at least decent. However his right click can be just absolutely stupid strong and combined with his stim pack + banshees he's probably the best dueler in the game. In general the highlights of his build is you take Searing Attacks at 7, Inspire slows at 13, executioner at 16. All those synergize to give him fantastic right click abilities but he still lacks a really good escape (inspire slow can sometimes save you.) So I take Optics at 4 to make sure I can just kind of skirt around the battle and rarely will I fully commit less the advantage is overwhelming. He is a difficult hero to play effectively and he can make you slam your head into the desk because he somewhat depends on competent team mates.

Dunktrain is probably the best player on that lineup. Sheth isn't anything special -- he's basically a worse IdrA at carry. But Dunktrain runs a scary as fuck Stitches.

I'm looking forward to checking this game out someday. As others have mentioned itisBlizzard so I'm not holding my breath waiting for a release date. I think they will probably get a lot of people like myself playing the game. I've never played a MOBA, ever or had any interest in them. I do however dig Blizzard game's and characters so in turn I'll check out their MOBA. I don't really know shit about it beyond some screenshots on google images but it looks pretty cool.

The good part about HOTS, which is why it will probably make money hand over fist, is it is really the only MOBA'ish that requires basically zero knowledge going into the game. The tutorial lasts all of 10 minutes and you know the entire game. Compare that to games like DOTA or League where your tutorial is 200 games. Sure it is nice to know what every hero does but it isn't even really mandatory and the skills are pretty simple that you can figure them out during the game. You don't need to learn items, how to build items, optimal build paths for items, skill builds or any of that. Many will argue that strips away all complexity and they'd have a valid argument. But what you're left with is a game that is pure fun with all tedium ripped out. Pretty much every hero also has some form of skillshot so there is still room to make really good plays with amazing skill placement.

IDK I played maybe 6 more games today and I'm still pretty hooked on it. Have played it off and on since the release of the alpha so like 6 months.

However the game isn't perfect. I wish they made gold easier to get and would get rid of talent gates. It is taking me forever the get enough gold on my account post-wipe to afford Abathur.

The other great thing about this game, both playing and spectating, is that it strips away the first 20 minutes just farming mobs, and gets you right to the action much, much quicker, and puts much more emphasis on pushing, capturing checkpoints/objectives, and funnels your team into team battles with their team, instead of mindlessly farming killshots while playing tag with the other person farming killshots in your lane.

Makes it 1000 times more fun to play and watch.

I think the only negative thing I didn't like about this game, and the main reason I cannot continue playing it, was how the movement and controls were so sluggish and bulky. Coming from a couple hundred hours of diablo 3 where the movement and response is SO much tighter and smooth, I just feel like I'm mired in molasses the entire time playing HOTS. I just wish they had used a more diablo3-like engine instead of a starcraft2/warcraft engine.

Does anyone else have that same feeling?

It's definitely a lot slower than D3, but I don't think it detracts from the game. It gives the game a lot more weight with each action. Having mounts helps alleviate the slowness of getting to places, too.

If they made the game D3 speed, landing skill shots would be almost impossible. But also, they'd probably have to reduce the cooldown on those skill shots to compensate, which would make the game too spammy. I like the deliberate feel of it.

Yeah, I agree the speed is painful coming from d3 to playing this, but I also agree the game would not work at d3 speed.

Yep, this is me. I'm fucking terrible at MOBAs and hate most of them I've played. This is the first one I've actually liked since the classic starcraft 1 mods because it's really simple compared to stuff like DoTA. It's basically to MOBAs what hearthstone is to card games: less depth but much more casual friendly, with shorter games and less complicated mechanics.

Things are pricey (gold and $) so I hope they come down a bit. Besides that I can't get enough of this game. Love the wc3 custom vibe. I think the first time I played LoL I got called every name imaginable so coming to a game where people are generally nicer and more helpful is pretty cool, especially for newer players.
