I was trying to grind some last night but my queue times were terrible. Every 120seconds I'd cancel is requeue because I didn't want to enter the "anything goes" timeframe from match making so I gave up.

I'll definitely be 20 before the deadline. Already 15 so it shouldn't be hard to do 5 more in 4 weeks.

No the grenade isn't a projectile or anything it is thrown to the destination
That's pretty op then. I sense a Tych nerf coming

He's already been nerfed but he's still about 100% pick/ban in competitive matches. So yeah he'll probably get nerfed again. Grenade used to displace 100% more than it does currently so it used to be so damn easy to secure kills with it or to use it as an escape.

Game is hard to play without friends. Plus you get an exp boost for being in a party with your friends so if you have a min-max mentality, it pretty much forces it!

Maybe I'm just used to doing nothing but solo queue in DOTA but I don't find solo queue in this game any more frustrating

Those are some serious levels. Have any heroes to level 10? That grind is killing me.
No not yet only because I don't care about Master Skins at all especially with gold acquisition having been neutered. I got to 35 mainly solo queing just took advantage of the double exp week and played lots then.

Whoever decided you can't click on any other heroes to see their skills in the game was a fucking idiot.

They have a try option for every hero if you need to know the skills. I never found it to be a very big deal but others have voiced concern. It made far more sense in DOTA to be able to click on people to see their items.

Send me your battle.net email addresses, I think I can get ~3 invites. Will go by people I hate the least first or post count.

Time to spam?

I spent part of the day trying to watch the Kings of the Storm. It is somewhat hard to follow because I don't have the game yet but I'm not sure its as enjoyable to watch as it is to play. There was a throw in the last game which amused me but lack of items/individual progression makes it less exciting to watch imo. Still excited to play it regardless.

I don't think this is a game for me to play religiously and to follow the pro scene (assuming there will be one comparable to the competition).

They have definitely succeeded in making "MOBA for people who who don't play MOBAs" but at the same time they killed most of the depth that made these games unique. They shortened the game to the "relevant" phases, which can be nice, but that also means almost every game follows the same script, it's a bit like browsing reddit for 3 hours, you know you did it, but you have no memory of doing it. Lack of power peaks and your control over them, besides lvl 10 for ultimates, also means you very rarely get to see outstanding solo plays, which means 5man stacks are preferred way to play, since one guy not keeping up means you WILL lose. So, yeah, this game is really unfriendly to solo q people.

There's of course the classic Blizzard polish, which means it's really smooth to play, however none of the heroes I played struck me as particularly powerful, with all the abilities familiar from other games, yet somehow neutered in both graphics and ingame potency. While they seem to do decent job of designing the heroes, I found it odd that every teamfight means that every ultimate gets used, which goes with what I mentioned - the approach to balance seems to mimic LoL instead of Dota. One thing that is absolutely perfect is the hero tryout system in the shop, with its own map and cheats. On the other hand, the F2P model they are using now is fucking brutal. I doubt any new hero will be released for less than 10k gold, which means you are looking at 333 victories, not counting quests and hero level rewards of course, but even then I doubt it gets below 100, which is, assuming 20 mins per game, about 30 hour grind, or 40+ because you won't be just winning. On top of that, with how distinct the heroes are, you can't replace one with another that easily, so any hero not in your collection can be a problem.

I wonder how the proscene will deal with multiple maps, because I have a feeling every map will have preferred heroes and if they let people queue for individual maps, it will end up with 1 being played over any other, aka the Lost Temple syndrome.

I don't think this game has anything to offer to anyone who actively plays and enjoys the two behemoths in the room. On top of that, I feel like Valve has simply smarter approach to balance and cosmetics.
