ETC is an excellent counter pick if the enemy team has a nova, its hard for her to shed etc to begin with and darn near impossible when you get the movement speed talent.

Since this is my first MOBA I've been just slowly getting into it as a noob. Mostly just playing Raynor since he was the Tutorial dude and only cooperative matches against the AI. Considering that I pretty much am the target market for this offering (gamer who hasn't played MOBAs and yet was interested in learning) I think this is a win for Blizz.

So I've ended up falling in love with Tyrande. The mix between Ashe (archer/hawk ability), Leona (targeted stun like her ult), Gangplank (her Starfire is global at 20), and uhh who can heal from LoL in her is incredibly fun. Even in terrible matches I can almost always have a decent game with her.

God playing quick match is absolutely fucking painful these days. The people in here seem more retarded than usual. Walk in as Uther and Divine Storm 4 of their heroes? Should we engage? Nah let that fucking Uther die.

yeah. will be wildly successful likely.

I'm a bit bored with it atm. Its good, but don't feel any major hooks to make me play it over any other Moba. its not even like hearthstone, which I feel is fundamentally flawed design, yet still popular. Slow gold game, and a bit too repetitive play here it feels like.

I can't say specifically why yet. Maybe too few champs, but doubt it, as I have not exactly played/mastered them all yet.
It could be the faster game time. A LoL game in summoners rift is much longer. so only would play 1-3 games/day really. and rarely even 3. The repetitive nature was not felt as much.
Then with ARAM. well all random.
could also be removing last hits, etc. less busywork, feels less involved.

so I don't know. I like it. but also its loosing my attention quickly.
The ridiculous gold skinnerbox is the biggest draw to actually log in and play sadly.

The biggest advantage and disadvantage to Heroes is it is basically all team fight all the time. In more traditional MOBAs you have some different phases. You start out with the lane farm phase. You can then move into either the push phase, team fight phase or carry AFK farm phase. You then move into the team fight phase and then ultimately the victory or loss screen. In this game it is basically lane for a minute or two then start picking team fights. Maybe not 5v5 team fights but just trying to find some advantage on the map and winning.

Do these morons want to lose? Ranked match, my team picks first, nazeebo, 2nd and 3rd picks thrall and....murky...we already got a specialist, but ok. So I have uther selected and my last teammate has muradin selected, I lock in, the last guy waits a few seconds then switches to zeratul and locks in. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the draft can be very frustrating. I don't know if many people simply cannot play a flexible role position or simply choose not to do it. But if you really, really want to play some Murky just play him in quick mode. 99/100 teams Murky is not a good fit.

I hear ya man. I think the real problem with the draft is somehow, nearly EVERY team is going for the most optimal team comp with the best heroes. Stitches and Tychus in near every game. I haven't gone a game without seeing Tychus and only a few without Stitches due to Tyrael gaining some cred. Rarely do you see half the heroes in this game. Blizz needs to add about 10 new heroes asap to mix things up a bit. Also nerf the shit out of Stitches and fix Tychus bugs.

For some reason whenever I pick any tank but ETC, my team goes full retard and loses from the very beginning. I'm 1-5 on Stitches, 0-2 on Arthas, but 5-2 on ETC. Da fuck. Its quite painful not playing a dps role because other than making some plays here and there you pretty much rely on your teammates to not be retards and focus their Stitches all game. Though I guess this is the same with every MOBA.

10-2 on Nazeebo. That Ravenous Spirit heroic is nasty and just turns teamfights instantly if you don't get stunned. I just go straight dps build on Naz and usually top the charts due to his long range and heroic.

It is very easy to top damage charts on Naz. I don't know if I've brought up my love/hate with Naz here or on other places but my issue with Naz is he can put out huge damage numbers but in a very uncontrolled fashion. When you get 16 your poison just hits for so much but how much of that damage actually matters. Sure if the other team is full retard (or you managed to find a great hiding spot) your RS can put out just absolutely nasty damage in a team fight but if you get stunned/knocked out of it I feel I bring not too much to a team fight other than some minor disruption and some non-focused damage. But this brings back to another issue in general with the scoreboard and how people refer to it as a testament to how they helped out their team. Murky also generally tops damage charts but that doesn't make him competitive. Going full W Valla will give you better damage than auto attack Valla but depending on the comp it may be better to go auto attack. Tychus usually isn't a huge contender for top damage spot but he's by far the #1 assassin. Naz and Murky just seem to be the kings of racking up hero damage especially when it doesn't really matter. So you will constantly get these people who have what I consider scoreboard padding heroes but when your team is losing will bring up these mostly worthless numbers as factual evidence that this loss is in no way their fault.

I guess terrible drafting isn't exclusive to the bad tier. ZPs just got a last pick Gazlow on his team then the Gazlow and his buddy proceeded to flame ZPs about how great Gazlow is and how he doesn't understand the game lol.

I think Naz's damage actually matters a lot. You can burst people down with a good zombie wall, toads, spiders, right click. Especially if most of the toads hit. Unlike Stitches who has little ticks all game which is why he tops damage charts, along with surviving the longest half of the time.

Totally in disagreement about Naz's damage. I agree there are heroes like that, but its more damage than a lot of heroes put out but less than say Thrall, Tychus, Nova, etc. The poison probably pads the damage meters a little bit, but Naz can 1v1 most heroes with good toads. If you get rewind I don't think you'd lose a 1v1 to anyone but Zera or Nova possibly.

Edit: Its easy to top damage charts with Hammer or Stitches as well, but how relevant is that damage? Its not burst thats for sure, its just ticking away health slowly but surely, mostly in a AOE. Similar to Naz, except Naz CAN burst if you're not a baddie.

Then again, that is just another reason why damage charts don't show the full story. Though a lack of damage would be most concerning.

I find most melee assassins deal with him well. Hardly anyone can 1v1 Thrall of course but I've had serious issues with Illidan and Kerrigan while playing him as well.

I'm also pretty sure the most damage I've put out ever was on a Naz where the other team didn't give a fuck about my RS. Especially post 16 that poison can just pad your numbers so badly if you poke or simply Q. But I don't have any stats. I can also put out some stupid damage numbers with a W Valla as well.

Naz is pretty solid, imo. That ult is crazy and it's often difficult to get a stun off to interrupt it.. especially if Naz is behind some trees or something. Zombie Wall can be difficult to land properly and sometimes gets in the way of your own team, but it's pretty effective when it does.

Don't forget you can hit W again to lower your zombie wall. No sense in keeping a poorly placed zombie wall up.
