Someone needs to drop a post on the ME thread about what's going on in Lebanon. Pleebs have been protesting for gov to resign and gov positions not to be based on religion as per tradition. I know a female Lebanese girl and been watching it through her stories.

Lol they're all proud that they're coming together across religious lines for the same cause - have the gov step down!

Uhhh but then what next. God knows how many political parties that are either Sunni, Hezbollah, Christian, druze.

I'm put $100 these sneaky Muslims are just looking for an excuse for a caliphate. No fucking way your gov will get better when it's associated with multiple religions that don't even get along.

Wtf so they want their gov to do. They have 2 currencies, no income, 18 different religions and Israel always playing shenanigans due to Hezbollah always playing shenanigans.

Shits just like Syria - Arabs need to realize that sometimes what you have is the best you can get relative to your situation. Theyve been watching too much American TV news about tranny rights and other bullshit first world problems and want in.

They need to move beyond sectarian differences or they're fucked.

But you can say that about most of the Middle East, so /shrug.

Even though they have a united front (of sorts) right now, what happens if they're successful and topple the gov't? Are they just gonna brofist each other and adopt this national identity together, or are the power hungry leaders of the different sanctions going to start stabbing each other in the back as they all vie for dominance?

My fear is that they're united against the gov't because right now they see gov't as the biggest issue/threat. But what happens when the gov't is gone?
