Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey comes out on the 27th of this month. Its 40 bucks. You play as a series of early hominids in Africa as they survive and evolve.

Its made by one of the Assassin's Creed franchise creators. It looks fucking great for an indie title with such a radical idea. They had anthropologists and paleo anthropologists on the team to advise and help guide development of the game.

I think its my most anticipated game of this year, just because of how radically different and anthropologically accurate it appears to be.

I remember the trailer for that. They were marketing it as multiplayer I think. Maybe I made that up. I think they were though.

It looked interesting. I might buy it. Probably not first week. I'm hard pressed to see how you make a -game- out of that.

It wouldn't be that hard to make it sort of a walking simulator though. An educational one I mean, not the low effort type.

It also wouldn't be -too- hard to make it a puzzle game like Myst or Talos. You'd just have to be clever with design.

Hawks love the rodents in the cities, they tear the fuck out of pigeons too. Its why some buildings have those "hawk head" type concrete perches that extend off their buildings, to encourage them to hang out there and keep the vermin away.

It's far more of a simulation with adventure/ action elements.

For 40 bucks I'm sure it'll be worth it.
