65% of players still use 1080p or below and only 6% have made the jump to 1440p. There's nothing wrong with 16:9. Players at 3440x1440 are 0.9%.

Game runs like dog shit, and I'm completely disappointed in this port. Absolutely disappointed. With how excited I was at this coming out and seeing how absolutely shitty it runs, really is a downer. For reference, all of this is caused by hitching. It would be smooth, then hitch for awhile, then smooth, then hitch etc. The card can handle this game fine, it's just their optimization is completely garbage.

They never should have released this.

Trying to get the highest FPS humanly possible: Full Screen, 640x480 Resolution (LOL), Worst Possible Quality, VSync off. I'd expect at LEAST 1000+ FPS with this card lol....

You could probably get 10-15 fps easily without (much) of a noticeable drop in quality.

Presets are bad.

Punko Punko Sadly, raising the average will probably not get rid of the maddening part : the constant little hick-ups.

That's really one of the key factor that kept me away from any kind of technically demanding PC games. If it runs poorly, there can be a billion different reasons for it and that's aggravating. On consoles, if the game runs poorly, the down side is that there is nothing you can do, but the up side is the peace of mind that comes with the fact there is nothing you can do and that the problem is not on your end.

There's nothing wrong with playing it on a PS4 either, that's not really the point though.

ACG revisited the performance problems after the patch and it didn't change much. That was even with him at 1440p rather than full 4K too. They're going to need a couple more patches before this is anything people should be calling 'playable'.

I was able to resolve my constant crashing issues by disabling just about everything that runs in the background (Skype, Zoom, Discord), disabling Steam overlay and cloud saves, not opening any browser windows or alt+tabbing at all while playing. Apparently the game has issues sharing memory even when you have an abundance (32GB in my case). Also it seemed like crashes were happening at obvious auto-save times (pre- and post- cutscene, entering new areas) so I dumped the Steam settings too.

Runs flawlessly on ps4pro. Not as pretty as pc. But I can enjoy it, one of the best games released on ps4.

What are the odds running it on my ancient i5-6600, 16gb, 1070 8gb, nvme?

If it helps here's my current rig an i5 2500k @4.4ghz (even if it says 3.3ghz there), 8gb, and 2060 6gb, ssd but not nvme. The "custom" graphics level is High textures, models, anis filtering, and motion blur off. Everything else is set to Medium.

Matching the maximum fps to my monitor fixed the stuttering for me. Still runs like ass but at least it stopped hitching.

I run it at 1440p on a 1080.

You could probably do that if you lower some other settings. I did and game looks gorgeous. Much beter then on my OLED and ps pro.

FWIW, here is my current bench.

It shows 'Custom' graphics because I have Motion Blur turned off. Otherwise all Ultra.
