You’d be making a killing but you’d also be spending a lot more on shit that doesn’t pay anything back, like property taxes, etc. A friend of mine went from $55k in southern Indiana, flush with expendable income, to $95k in south central California and flat fucking broke.
I work with a lot of east coasters in NJ and everything is so expensive that they get like 1/2 to 2/3 of the house that the Midwest gets for the same rent/mortgage. Paying $15k a year in property taxes where we pay $2k.

Oh I know I'd be dirt broke. I lived out in the pacific northwest for a few years and part of the reason i moved back was I was looking at buying a decent spot of property and that wasn't fucking happening there unless I lived 45 minutes out of a city. Around here I've been able to save at least 1,500 a month and still have some decent disposable fun money.
