Considering practically the entire Paradox Stream/YT crowd has gone back to playing EU4/CK2 and to some extent HoI4 then not really. The main complaint seems to be that they went overboard with the "mana", and it also lacks depth. I can understand both, the mana they started with in EU4 is not the best mechanic for strategy games, and with regards to depth, well, they dig their own grave here both in terms of having to account for massive DLCs in the future (so you can't start out too feature heavy) but also they're competing with their own games that have years and years of added content.
Stellaris went the same path and took about 2 years (until they released 2.0) to feel right, and I expect the same here.
