i didn't post a vid, it was an embed on tmdb, which was a fake trailer, it took this short teaser and added clips from other movies.

It's a funny spoof trailer thing. I got a chuckle out of it.

It's great that GRRM is able to create this story. Especially back when he promised that Winds of Winter would be completed way back in 2018.

Maybe I missed the joke, but this is based on a novella he wrote in the early 1980s.

Also, it is very not good. The movie I mean. It looks like cheap knock-off of 300, except that 300 was 20 years ago, and the plot is lame in a poorly fleshed out setting.

One of his most visually impressive movies by RE standards.

Got what I came for.

This is pretty terrible. Feels like Zack Snyder trying to make a Mad Max knockoff with worse acting and worse writing.

its not really like resident evil, there isn't really any non-human stuff until the end. Its mostly just "green screen the movie" with bautista and jojovich being on screen most of the time. plot is nonsense as usual.

at least its very short clocking in under 90 mins (plus credits). just a journey from A to B with some video game ass background CGI sets. still pretty fun if you like post apocalyptic movies but nothing special, throws in every trope from the genre so you know exactly whats gonna happen and every surprise is telegraphed long ahead.

jojovich is great, bautista was miscast though. she knows she is in a dumbass movie and modulates her performance appropriately, he takes it way too seriously. woulda been more fun with someone who hams it up, like Lambert from Highlander.

I just wrapped up this turd of an excuse for a movie and came to make the same comment about it being “Green screen the movie.” It is pretty jarring how bad it all looks.

Didn’t think about it at the time but you are right about Jovovich being in on the whole thing being schlock. Bautista is trying way too hard. If it was a little more tongue in cheek or tried to be campy it could have been way more fun. Just seemed way too grim dark and serious (or self-serious?) to be enjoyable even as popcorn B-movie junk.
