Wes Anderson movies are art house movies with a seemingly niche audience. I would assume that means that they don't historically do well in the box office, especially when compared with historical "blockbusters." Too bad (for theater owners) today's "blockbusters" are all flops, but they still have the studios pushing for screen time with possible contracts saying X amount of screens for X amount of time.PS- interesting side-note. Why is the multiplex not showing the Wes Anderson movie? That has to be relegated to art houses? Really?
I found every Wes Anderson project that I have tried to watch an utter bore, yet I would rather watch a one of them, than Indiana Jones 4 or 5.
