Even if it is with the way this market has been behaving it won't give it back even after it forgets the news it ran up on. It just reminds traders that even if this headline isn't what they want the headline they do want is coming at some point.

Gilead stuff looks like yet more BS from them. At some point they need to die to a malpractice fire if they keep this up. They're basically using their drug as a snake oil without a single shred of published evidence that it helps.

AMD is 1.3% from its all time high. Nvidia is 4% from its all time high. Microsoft is 4.3% from its all time high. All currently during after hours trading yet nasdaq is still down 14% from its high.

The Fed put is a powerful thing, it may take us a lot of quarters to get full earnings back but the market will be setting new highs well before that ever happens. People get to continue to experience why bull markets are hated they have a way of forming that will fuck you every time if you think you can wait for safe moment. The power of indexes. The reality is a small-ish number of stocks are running hot. The rest aren't and they are dragging the index behind. Just compare SPY to MSFT/AAPL/AMZN. They are the heaviest weight stocks in the index but are crushing it in returns since the bottom. Its why all index portfolios are bad. XOM and CVX both up 3% while oil plunges 7% to 18.50 a barrel. Crazy times.
I have read conflicting reports on the Gilead news. Today might be a day to take some profit. Fundamentally I dont see the Gilead news and Trump's "we are letting states reopen" really being a cause for a large rush upwards. Besides "irrational exuberance". The big Liberal economies arent opening anytime soon, no matter what Trump says.
