They think inflation will go down because people think it will go down.

The fed is only effective if people think it's effective.

If I think the price of a Tesla will be cheaper in 2023 I won't buy it until 2023.
Causing demand destruction, lowering inflation.

If I think the price of a Tesla will be higher in 2023, I'm buying it asap, causing more inflation.

It's why the housing market is doing what it's doing, to a degree, not really a great example because rates are higher but still people assume the base cost of a house will be lower due to higher cost of a mortgage, so they are waiting.

Keeping demand high while everything is still supply constrained doesn't have the normal upsides. Demand is still outpacing supply with the exception of cheap shit from Target and GPUs kek.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like he liquidated it all.

There's more to this story though, as to how he acquired $27M to start with (or rather, where his family and friends scrounged up that much). This isn't the headline it appears because he's already probably a trust fund baby.

lol my employer sent out a "don't commit insider trading" email to everyone today but that doesn't really apply to us lowly engineers, we don't have anything more than public information. In fact, the contact center engineers, solution specialists/solution architects have all been sent the opposite signal: now would be a great time to dual skill into Microsoft/Genesys/Cisco.

But I seriously think if we could turn the apes onto this stock we could make a lifechanging amount of money.
