Guess institutional investors were just sitting on giant piles of money.
I posted about it about a month ago, but there was a massive institutional buy threshold at I want to say around 4030. Once we hit it, it was off to the races.

I'm still concerned this is just a bull trap, but I'm hoping maybe we can hit something like 4200 by the end of the year.

Time to start thinking about harvesting one of these losses for tax purposes. Any suggestions? Does it even matter? Also #lossporn

How much realized gain are you looking to offset? And I cant believe you didnt take the profits from INTC way back when.
At least it pays dividends. But yeah, that was real dumb.

Looking to offset about 17k in realized gains from the AVYA YOLO plus other stuff. More if I sell my SPY...

Honestly most of those stocks are decent and I wouldnt harvest them. I think crypto is ass, but there are enough retards that it might make another run at some point.

I dunno if Greyscale will ever recover. It's on the list of the next victims after FTX and BlockFi.

Gonna give it a week or so to see if it even comes back up to 8 or 9.

Ill he honest, i am not 100% sure the crypto count as offsets. I am pretty sure they do without looking it up, but i made money on my BTC trades so never had to look up treatment of crypto losses.

It's not crypto, it's shares in a trust that buys crypto, so it's not like buying actual tokens, it's just an OTC stock.

JEPI went ex-dividend today at $0.6104 . That's a dividend yield of 10.60%. JEPI is a premium income generator via equities. Top ten holdings are:

Thanks Blazin Blazin for turning me on to this last year. It has been a solid fit for my mom's fixed income portfolio.

You know your stocks have been in the toilet for a while when a couple of good days and you start seeing all these 13 week highs popping.

"
In terms of the market's reaction to the headline jobs print, this is what Goldman expects:

  • >261k (aka higher than last print) S&P down at least 2%
  • 175k – 261k S&P down 1 – 2%
  • 125k – 175k S&P up 50bps - 1%
  • 0 – 125k S&P up 1 - 2% <0 S&P down 1 – 2% on R word fears"

And down the toilet we go...
