My ex opened up an account during this time and she had me choose the stocks to buy. I went with what was being pushed here at the time including big buys in Disney, Boeing, QQQ, airlines ect and pretty much got them all near their bottoms. She pretty much set it and forget it and has made bank. She probably doesnt even remember the account exists if I had to guess.

On the flip side, I bought in at the same and tinkered around throughout the year like a paper hands bitch and exited 90% of the positions.

This is one reason i adopted FTEC over QQQ as my backbone ETF. The other reason of course is my loathing for GOOG. AAPL and MSFT hold a much higher weighting in FTEC and these are two of my core holdings outside the ETF.

I think I might start bottom feeding on BABA again. I made money the last time I owned it but dumped it because of Jack Ma and China spat. Its getting low enough the upside might outweigh the risk. Think I am going to start stalking it at $221 and see what happens.

Yeah me too. Its kind of a weird situation. China wants to show Ma who is boss, but at the same time BABA is their crown jewel in terms of corporations. They will only go so far I think.

Quite the opposite. He's exactly right about Silicon Valley. And it's magical hearing someone talk about it so plainly.

I'm longer for PLTR than I've ever been after watching that!

He's right in that previous generations of the tech industry made it big/giant from either starting or doing things for the government. The big driver for the transistor was the government. Some ways so was radio, radar, computers etc...
