These arent TIPS dawg. But yeah, 7.12% plus the tiny bonus of no state income tax isnt too shabby. The cap of 10k a year blows but I am think I will be tossing 20k at it before April. Also for those of us tarded enough to still have school expenses, there is also the small bonus of no federal taxation :D
My bad. I was glancing at the page and saw a hyperlink "compare bonds to TIPS" and my mind went "wow they are TIPS".

Which means they're expecting inflation of 7% or higher. Add in the tax implications and you're not coming out ahead. Better than cash though!
Well, not exactly, they're expecting inflation + the fed funds rates to be 7% or higher.

So can you purchase 1 electronic bond and 1 paper bond for a total of 15000?

$571 profit on TSLA today. Three trades, all short. Took me all AM to cover my last short. Why the stock hasn't cratered after the Hertz deal not being signed yet and the autopilot recall fiasco is beyond me.

I just ignored the signal on the last trade and held my short. At one point, the last trade was down almost 4k before turning green (and selling).

Tesla is now way above the volatility level I want. I see its at 6% right now, I don't like more than 3.

Personification: attributing human traits to inanimate objects.

Teslafication: attributing normal market fundamentals to TSLA.

You let a trade run 4K against you? Do you use any kind of stops? That is dangerous, especially with something like Tesla.

You effectively ran a 4K unrealized loss to take a $874 profit? That is P&L ratios out of control. Glad it worked out in the end, but that kind of trading can get you into trouble.

Think through this with me, the stock rallied because Hertz is buying 100k vehicles. Now Musk tweeted that is in question. And Queen Cathie says a good portion of Tesla's share value comes from autopilot, but they took that off of beta and recalled vehicles.

None of those should be enough to push the market value to over 1T. Yet it did. Now that those are gone, if the market is being consistent, it should go back under 1,000 (unless those issues are resolved).

Believe it or not, the correct stop loss today was 3%. That's how volatile the stock is lately. Its so volatile I lost 1,500 before my hands could get to the keyboard. I let it go a little above 3%. Actually 3.8% before it started going the other way (it was 3,800 on a 100k trade).

The volatility is making it very hard to trade. So, unless it cools down, I have to move on to something else. This news today has made it even worse to trade than it already is.

Dysin, one reason I like using a program like TrendBot is that it figures out my stop loss, based on volatility. The stock is so volatile right now that even during the lunch time grind, the stop is 1.7%. I just moved the stop a little further. Call it risky, stupidity or the right thing, I think the stock should be under 1k right now, just based on the news today. And its the bet I made.

Thats the type of P&L that gets brought public via a SPAC :)

Not totally accurate. They didnt take Self Driving (Autopilot is a lesser version) off vehicles. They rolled back version 10.3 which had the issue and reinstated version 10.2 (the previous version). My self driving works, its on 10.2 since my safety score isnt high enough for 10.3 yet

Those who had a 100 safety score (yes the Car gives you a safe driving score over a rolling 30 day period) and then to the 99 and 98s. I dont think it had gotten beyond that when they reverted it. I suxxor. But in my defense I drive in NY and NYC.
