I suspect they make money on spread. e.g. you pay $16.93 for a share that they buy for $16.90 or somewhere around that. It's neat in that it's cheaper for small purchases than a flat fee, but problematic in that you don't know what the actual market price is...
Anyone have a go to purchase accessible through ameritrade to get some earnings while i save up for siding? They have some commission free etfs I'm leaning towards blindly picking like VOE..it has the most stars
Unless your siding purchase is years away, stocks aren't a really good place to put your money that you want to use towards it. Unfortunately there aren't really any good alternatives either.

Any thoughts on the level of risk involved with trading on the volatility in UWTI (3x leveraged oil)?
I can't see oil moving much further south so it seems any large movement would be very asymmetric, while getting in and out to take smaller profits.

So a friend of mine talked to me about this little company he invested in, and he sees it going places. I looked into it and I see it going places too. I kind of want to buy a few shares. It's considered a penny stock so it won't really cost me shit and learning how this works could be a neat distraction.
How would I go about buying stock in this company? I don't know shit about stock, but say I just wanted to put $100 in it for shits and giggles, where would I go to do that?

Might as well just go buy currency like the Yen right now. really though its true, the dollar is at its strongest in like 8 years. market gonna crash soon, over valued stocks, to much debt, subprime lending again in different markets.
