So supposedly the fate of a Justice League movie right now is contingent on Man of Steel being a hit. If itisa hitZack Snyder will direct the Justice League movie.
Constantine will be the main character for the Justice League Dark, or Dark Universe, whichever they call it..Am I the only one hoping for a Constantine sequel? I know it will never happen but...
Oh well.
lose/lose.So supposedly the fate of a Justice League movie right now is contingent on Man of Steel being a hit. If itisa hitZack Snyder will direct the Justice League movie.
The DC Execs make the most retarded decisionslose/lose.
If man of steel fails, DC is basically done with movies. It will likely kill the JL dark movie as well.
If man of steel succeeds. more grim dark shit. and more Snyder/Nolan. Chances of seeing, Booster gold, JLI, JSA, Blue beetle, Question, etc. Zero.
The DC movies have mostly been stinkers while the cartoons do justice to both classic and new story lines. The opposite is true for Marvel. The movies have mostly been quality, and the cartoons have been silly parodies. The execs are just being risk averse and want to stick with what has made them money in the past. The DC Execs make the most retarded decisions. Avengers did billions, and DC is still asking itself if a JLA movie is feasible.
B.S. DC Execs are beyond retarded. They just canceled Young Justice prematurely, and it was the second highest rated cartoon on TV. They don't know what they are doing, and they are mired in excessive politics. There was an article (which I posted on FOH, but can't find now) that pretty much said that DC is divided in half, under two Execs. One of these Execs will be next head of DC Comics. Nothing is getting greenlit because if you vote for a project in the wrong camp, you are seen as taking sides. No one is taking sides, so nothing not much is getting greenlit. Instead of acting like one united company, they are acting like rival companies, but they are in the same building. They are spending more time infighting than on managing their business. Creative suffers because the suits are calling the shots. The DC movies have mostly been stinkers while the cartoons do justice to both classic and new story lines.
I thought Young Justice got canceled because of Cartoon Network and them not making enough from merchandise off of it. Same reason Thundercats and on Disney Tron: Uprising were canceled.B.S. DC and Cartoon Network are owned by the same parent company, so that should tell you the politics going on. It was a hit show, that was canceled. And since when do toy sales become more important than ratings?I thought Young Justice got canceled because of Cartoon Network and them not making enough from merchandise off of it. When you make more money from toy sales than you do from advertising?DC and Cartoon Network are owned by the same parent company, so that should tell you the politics going on. It was a hit show, that was canceled. And since when do toy sales become more important than ratings?
I remember when Cars 2 was coming out. I, and every other thinking human, was all "What the fuck, Cars sucked! Make Incredibles 2!". But then it was mentioned that though Cars was the worst reviewed Pixar movie it had sold TEN BILLION DOLLARS in merch in the 5 years since release. When you make more money from toy sales than you do from advertising?
I'll take the Marvel approach, they give us a variety of their heroes, without much regard to toy sales. DC just keeps churning out Batman, Superman and Teen Titans for toy sales. I love Batman, but he's had like umpteen episodes. When you make more money from toy sales than you do from advertising?
Lobo is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The Lobo character was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, and first appeared in Omega Men #3 (June 1983). Lobo is an alien, and works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Lobo was Introduced as a hardened, although rarely used, hardboiled villain in the 1980s, and remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s.
I think this is complete bullshit. flash, martian manhunter, green lantern, question, Dr fate ect all have great stories you can do. The studios are just fucking retarded an if the were able to pull off black widow and hawk eye in the avengers I see no reason to say they can't pull off wonder woman or aquamani think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the marvel superheroes are just flat out more interesting than DC superheroes. not going to go all nerdy on this, but really, aside for batman, most of DC's heroes are just really fucking lame. superman disguises himself as a goofy news reporter. not interesting. wonder woman has a rope that makes people tell the truth and bracelets that deflect bullets (fuck me that's lame). aquaman's only power is to control sea creatures (really?). they're all just flat. compare that to marvel's characters, who all have powers but also are still vulnerable and have a darker side (like spiderman, the x-men, hulk, etc...) and you can make a lot more interesting movies.
