Bit of a weird episode, felt again like something filmed last season. So i guess the 4 moved episodes aren't an arc, just kinda weird standalone episodes... but yeah, liked the ending, that was very cool

I had wondered if Ella had some weird reason for hating Vegas so that's pretty cool to see. That said, can anyone explain why card counting is illegal? If you're doing it inside your head, I don't understand how they can say its not allowed other than to protect their money.

Card counting isn't illegal. The casino can control your access to play and engage various countermeasures to disrupt your advantage, but there are numerous court cases defending advantage play. There are also many methods the casino can employ to stop/disrupt you. You won't go to jail for counting, but if you are obvious and winning, they can close your table, change the table rules, etc.

Correct, not illegal but not allowed. You can be strait up banned from a Casino for doing it. It's usually easier for them to just do that then go through the trouble of changing things up on you.

They'll cash your winnings out, hand you everything you won and ask you to leave.

true true,. but in the episode...nothing ella told lucifer to do was card counting, just normal black jack strat.

now if they showed lucifer with a 18 or 19 face up and her arguing for him to hit, THEN i could see the counting aspect...esp if she goes "trust me" its a 2 or a 3" (depending on if it is 18 or 19 to get to 21)

2 aces without a 10/royal/ace showing for the dealer-- split
9 10 or 11 double down

those are normal black jack strategies...

most card counting strategies need 3 decks or less, otherwise it becomes much much harder to count in your head, which is why most tables- except for high high end tables, use 4-8 decks. one deck high end blackjack tables, the house edge is in the range of -0.18% to 0.01%, the house basically breaks even/loses money depending on the game rules.. which is why 2 deck is used more often there because 2 decks the edge is 0.18% to 0.4% depending on the rules.

(yes i looked the percentages up, while i know blackjack and know why more decks are used, i never play enough to worry about percentages,,,i just know less decks= better for player)

so far they have played 2 of the 4 missing episodes, last weeks vegas, and this weeks reporter episode.

and those 2 episodes have been great. loved this past one...the ex was good in the role.

Yeah, casinos just trespass you and that's about it. They don't have to have much of a reason, either, just like how The Cosmopolitan trespassed OJ because they just didn't want him around.

They kicked them out because Ella popped up on their radar for winning, and she had already been caught and banned before. Hence the HUGE photo and profile on the screen in the back room.

I like the mid season ending/twist.

Glad I was wrong in betting the new captain was somehow an angel cloaked from Lucifer recognizing him. Although it doesn't answer how he got his wings back and lost his "devil face"....

I wasn't expecting that ending, but I'm happy with it. Also really pleased that Welling is finally getting some decent work.

Now that I've seen Notch's house in the Gamergate thread, I watched this entire episode wondering if Lucifer's secret hideout was Notch's. It probably isn't, but dammit I wondered the whole time!

Bit of a different take on Tom's character than in the comics, but I liked it anyways. Lucifer sitting there sipping his drink was priceless.

Definitely like the direction that took.

I'm guessing he blames Lucifer for his situation and that's why he tried to have him kill a human? Don't know if they ever mentioned that was a no-no before.

I do like how he glanced back nervously for a second before going back to drinking. He clearly had an oh hell I hope I was not wrong moment.

I feel like this episode was a bit of a slap in the face, you take your fall break. Come back with a nothing burger episode, then grats wait 3 more weeks.
