What I know at this point is that you'd have a great career in game development because you focus on the people more than the product.

I equate the people with the product. When I see a product fall on its ass, I can instantly see why. And in this case, when a tranny BLM activist is the producer, they nix proximity chat in a PvP extraction game because it’s “toxic”, overran budget and milestones by 2 fucking years and launch with three maps at $49.99, then when players ask “what about PvE” (remember us? The customer buying this?) they say the product is not for them, (enter fifty more tell tale signs here) They can fail on their own demerits.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. The pictures reminded me of the old team pictures we used to do. AC2 picture from 2009. Took me a while to find myself. I will admit that I miss working with some of the peoples in this picture.

Bruh, this is a Marathon thread, if you wanna talk about Concord go talk about Concord. What the fuck does a sad dev from a different company have to do with this game? Threads are meant to be self-contained discussions on their topic.

That was a post made in the official Marathon reddit about the game and it has nothing to do with Concord outside of the user who created it having been a pat of that dev team. Why are you being so desperate and aggressive in your defense for this game?

Subreddits are fan-made, it's not official, anyone can create topics. The post is talking about how people are acting toward Marathon, but it's not actually about the game itself nor is it written by an employee of the company making it. A link to someone's LiveJournal would be just as relevant.

I am not. I am only saying that if you want to complain about the game, complain about the game. There are plenty of valid things to talk about. That guy moaning isn't one of them.

Copy.

So far we have:

1) A game in development hell for five years launching with three maps and six classes at 49.99 which may or may not include a battle pass.

2) A game which requires proximity chat by default being censored on purpose because it will hurt peoples feelings when the game itself is about killing the other team and taking their shit.

3) An art style which oozes typical Woke as fuck cringe.

4) No PvE in addition to hardly any content anyway.

5) Developers of the game criticizing customers criticizing their weak as fuck showing thinking they are entitled to shut up paying customers not realizing we live in a world where they work for us and we pay them for a service we want. Maybe they should shut the fuck up and listen rather than piss them off so they don’t get the fucking axe come September and make a fun game people want to play.

6) A track record of 80% shit, 20% outstanding when it comes to Destiny 1 and 2.

7) An alpha application which they put an option on there to declare your fucking pronoun so the gay producer can hand select those that would be more on his crazy ass political side which will result in better press pre release.

That’s about what we got.

Bungie can stay the course and fail - or shut the fuck up and make some meaningful changes to the game and have a chance at succeeding. Which would require talent.

I agree about proximity chat, that should be in an most games. Saying it's required is a stretch, it would definitely be more entertaining.

What kind of PVE would you looking for here? Destiny is Bungie's best PVE and you don't seem to like that; though I would argue you never even made it to their best stuff. I see you did the semi-recent Warlord dungeon one time, but I am also going to assume you were drunk when you did it.

Some (20%) was outstanding like I said. Some dungeons (never raided because it was hard to get into it a huge time commit) but played through all the campaigns. Dungeons I did with MusicForFish MusicForFish and end game seasonal stuff I did quite a bit of for a while with light fall. Fell off the radar for me after TFS. The last boss fight was outstanding. But Bungie fucked this all up by segmenting the final expansion into two expansions so light fall was pretty shit.

Division style PvE campaign which should have been pretty damn easy for five years of development. Even Ubisoft pulled this off with extraction zone PVP.

But quite literally the Dark zone in Div 2 has more content than this entire fucking game.

Anyone can create topics but a lot of reddit subs are official where they are controlled and moderated by people who are a part of the company that owns whatever the reddit is for. There's loads of reddit subs that are basically official like that.

Anyways the post is relevant to the discussion about the game, sorry you don't like it being shared.

Are these the DEI hires in question? The studio full of white guys?

View attachment 582463
White “guys” how many of them care about pronouns, leftist talking points, and been emasculated to seem less threatening and less bossy
White has nothing to do with it. But I guarantee you the dude with the ZZ top beard at the top with glasses might be the only one in that picture that doesn’t suck dick for a living and gets shit done.
right, it’s a cultural thing how many of those dudes actually live in reality. How many of them are in games cause they like gameplay
Now here’s a pic of Bungie when they worked and created fun shit.

View attachment 582464
Culture at its finest; those black. Dudes are nerds. There was black people that didn’t fuck with them at that time. That shit is virtual colonialism

I guess when the people developing the games decide to stop attacking the people that play the games then the people that play the games should stop attacking the people that create this slop.

Imagine being such a loser that you feel the need to jump into every thread in the Gaming forum to white knight the obvious DEI infested dev teams for all these AAA studios. Sad.

this is it right here. i'll gleefully burn down every studio that's infested with these non-humans. i hope they all get fired. I'm no where near out of games to play. the bonfire can get a lot larger.

So Lenas Lenas to help explain this further in case you had other views.

The trend of DEI was a bolt on to affirmative action to supposedly combat bias against anything in the workforce. . Coupled later (I, my wife, and many others have had to go through this bullshit training year over year) where white people are taught to quite literally think of themselves as privileged and the ultimate problem with society. This was then coupled with the fact that hiring quotas were put in place to meet guidelines to get ESG/DEI funding from State/Feds/wall street. It never turned out to be an equal rights tool - and all it did was inject Marxism into our corporations. Meanwhile, people that were qualified for jobs (Whether they were white or not) were overlooked for lower skilled check boxes to meet said quotas in DEI practices. Quite literally, you could have a 45 year old white guy, black guy, didn't matter - with 15 years experience in shipping games which were well received and sold well, that person loving games as a passion and knowing everything about game development from skill, creativity, and thoughtfulness to make games fun in whichever way they wanted to - to a transsexual pronoun with 6 months of QA experience, no passion to make games, and the latter would get the job.

Here is what that created as we all see today - and is relevant to Marathon:

1) Lower skilled workers and a lack of creativity.
2) Budget blow outs and a massive increase in stop starts due to lower skilled workers.
3) Marxist agendas and Woke ideals over creating a fun game.
4) A victim mentality where customers should feel lucky they can spend their money on their product and should be lucky enough they are making anything for anyone to play, when reality is they should be passionate about their projects creating a fun game and enjoy the customer base buying said product.
5) Lower quality titles hitting the market as a result.
6) Massive censorship of feedback and attempting to create an echo chamber of positivity around these horrible ideas with AI bots and blanket censorship on community forums and media outlet control.
7) Censorship and over-reach for online gaming community communication platforms (Messaging, voice chat in game) or blocking these communication tools altogether.

When it comes to Marathon we can correlate this easily.

1) Massively overbudget with 5+ years of development. Relates to all of the above combined.
2) No Proximity chat in a genre that defines the need for it because they cannot control "Toxic" behavior - which it isn't their job to do so. Relates specifically with 3, 4, 6 and 7 above.
3) A complete and ridiculously low amount of content and playability at launch. Relates to 1, 2, 4, 5 above.
4) Horrible art style with the world itself, characters, and world building - relates to 1, 2, 3 above.
5) Literally coming out and saying "Maybe this game isn't for you based on uncensored feedback of quite literally, epic negativity. Relates to 4 above.
6) Rushed launch to get anything out the door which results in Concord Part 2. Relates to all of the above.

I can point this same subset of data to the following games:

Marathon (And it isn't even out yet)
Suicide Squad
Forsaken
Gothic Knights
South of Midnight
Dragon Age Veilguard
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Star Wars OUtlaws
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
The latest FF14 expansion
Far Cry New Dawn
Far Cry 6

I can also point this to games that should have had massive sequel success but didn't from a sales unit perspective relating to the above process happening between the time of the successful IP and then the resulting aftermath for the sequel.

God of War - 23 million units sold. God of War 2: 15 million units sold.
Horizon Zero Dawn - 20 Million Units Sold. Horizon Forbidden West: 8.4 Million.
The Last of us: 37 Million units sold. The last of us 2: 13 million units sold.
Mass Effect 3: 10 million units sold. Mass effect Andromeda: 5 Million Units Sold.
Dragon Age Inquisition: 12 Million Units Sold. Dragon Age Veilguard: 2 million units sold.

If you want, I can also go into the budget deltas here that would blow your mind based on the impact the above is having on the game industry.

I'll give you one example: God of War (2018) $150 million. God of War: Ragnarok $200 million. Now correlate the budgets and units sold. Costs increase, revenue decreased. Once again this is only one. Here is Horizon Zero Dawn - Horizon Zero Dawn: $150 million. Horizon Forbidden West: $230 Million. The latter, once again with a budget hit due to the above, along with over a 50% revenue decrease.

So there is no fools errand around this. DEI fucked the gaming industry. And easy data to pull like this is why Marathon will also die a quick death at launch and is EASILY predictable.

to be faaaair Lenas has at least one post in this thread actually talking about the game and not just white knighting the poor misunderstood large corporation developing it.
