EQ1 griefing you had to be clever though. As a monk, I learned how to exploit enemy pathing and teleportation so that you could feign death no where near the target to train with mobs, but still have the mobs attack the people in question you wanted to

As opposed to training mobs to your friends by accident. I still feel bad about accidentally training half of Sebilis to a Trak raid once - I just wanted to watch the raid happen (rival guild was doing it, but I was friends with them), but Trak's AOE hit me and broke FD and ended up bringing all the mobs and wiping the raid.

Well Ut has said there was "no PvE" a I'm not saying it's going to be good or bad but there is PVE in place and they say it's going to be difficult. I don't know where some of his claims come from.

Lenas Lenas can you tell me why this took five years? My Dog could have designed this with a Mac plus and 15 MusicForFish MusicForFish ’s power outages in the way within 6 months.

I don't know, man. Why are you recommending Beautiful Light when it's got a 2019-2026 "planned" development window? They don't have any PVE-only modes, either!

No DEI and they have actually developed more base systems than this piece of shit with like four people?

Comments are spot on 👍

Holy Shit are the comments all center-mass kill shots.

Watching that video rather than the cinematic garbage I hate it less but rather than wanting to play the game (I don't and never will, PVP extraction shooters are not my bag, I never went into the Dark Zones or whatever in The Division or Division 2) it makes me sad at the possibility of what we could have had for a Marathon Remake/Sequel etc. I love whatever Bungie was, art, music, worldbuilding, etc.

They have made some of the coolest games and used to be one of the most storied Dev studios of all time: I even loved whatever that anime game was (Fake edit: Oni) but this just feels like a niche, Kiss of Death miss everyone can see coming from a mile away, a Bethesda-style, "Hey, this is popular now so lets make an <X>, except once you throw in Dev time, add a box price and Woke it up a bunch, all the cool Bungie things you are going to do aren't going to be able to save it from the same unplayed trash heap as Concord.

An EVP with an Ivy League degree who never plays games is going to shut down your studio and move the good devs to projects they expect to make money.

3) An art style which oozes typical Woke as fuck cringe.
4) Horrible art style with the world itself, characters, and world building - relates to 1, 2, 3 above.
I can concede to majority of the points, and fully accept that this could very well be that this is slop to be consumed; esp the track record of bungie setting norms to mtx's and live service gaming that has been relatively toxic for consumers over the last 10 years. Even seeing that while DEI is more or less out the door due to copious amounts of failure, the ghosts of it will still be systematically present for the foreseeable future..

But the art style being dei? maybe the characters because of their androgyny and essential low-effort base design; personally I took that for MTX cashgrab. In route of The Finals, customize every fascet of your character from hat to shoes.

The art style is just a 2006's GTA:Vice City's take on 1980's Miami(tho not as good).. another nostalgia-grab for an era that existed ethereally in the realm of marketing, for Marathon; it was when the world moved into the internet and 3d graphics age, an imagined future if you will.. its information-driven vectors influenced by corpo sponsorship. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sony wasn't more or less headstrong in the art direction as they were one of the main pillars to the product design of this era.

It's no Beskinski or Frazetta, and it's definitely some sort of amalgamation of acid techno mess.. but definitely sits up there around my personal favorite design era, next to brutalism; I was like 10-13yrold running to bookstores to copy down cheatcodes for video games.. before they were even on the web, or atleast I had web access.

Also, why is the "not for everyone" argument so damning? I definitely cannot recommend Tarkov to everyone, but I love it. As far as that video above, the Cycle was great.. the thing that shot themselves in the foot was balancing.. if you were high tier, low tier stood ZERO chance at winning.. I could do ketr runs in Tarkov, and win against Altyns but not because of headshots.. and then there were MMR "buckets" based off of currency gain rather than skill; so cheaters ultimately rose to the top, and any top player would face cheaters in 100% of their games. Which in turn bled their game of any creator advertisements via streamers, and content creators because they simply just left due to cheater problems.

Aim assist ruined shooters as you used to have SOME aim assist to help people with shitty 60fps at best consoles and default controllers help compete with guys with 144fps giga rigs and a 150 dollar mouse. Now shooters you have a 300fps giga rig and a 150 dollar controller using 40% aim assist to outshoot anyone on a mouse because their fucking reticle sticks to your body and negates recoil.

Fuckem. Give us all aim assist or no one.

Input preference isn't generally a problem in Destiny. People hate D2 PVP because of ability spam, not gun shooting. Sniping used to be a problem on controllers but multiple nerfs buried them.

Destiny does not have aim assist on mouse. And I truly doubt that Marathon would have aim assist on mouse either. Destiny does have its generous bullet magnetism, which is at the core of the game and has nothing to do with aim assist. The problem is not even with aim assist though, its mixing console kids and PC kids together in lobbies that fucks shit up. But thats exactly what games are doing these days. Destiny is not the only one. See games like apex legends, which do the same shit. Each side THINKs the other has advantages, and the problems spring from that whole bullshit argument.

Destiny does not have aim assist on mouse.
Destiny has more aim assist on mouse than it does on controller, the devs themselves have written multiple articles about how they handle it.

You are probably talking about reticle friction (when something moves in front of you and drags the reticle) which is not the same as aim assist.
