Put my foot down and banned sister in-law and her shitty abusive kid from our house (link to earlier post about this), and don't even want to spend any time around them. So much so, that two months passed and I still felt the same. Then wife and I plan a trip to the mall with our girls to see Santa. Right before heading to the mall...
Me: Where is your sister?
Wife: Oh, she's coming to the mall.
Me: Do you remember when you asked me this morning if I want to go to dinner with your sister and her kids? I told you no thank you.
Wife: You can't keep me from seeing my sister!
Me: I'm not doing that, I'm not letting them in our house because her son somehow always injures one of our girls. You can go see her at her house if you want, and you have. If that shithead kid hurts our girls outside of our home, then we will have something serious to talk about.
Wife: So you're choosing to not spend time with our children because of my sister?
Me: You know how I felt and what my response would be. You're trying to keep me from spending time with OUR children. You're choosing your sister over me.
Wife: All the girls do is talk about seeing Auntie. You can't keep them from seeing her either! It's been two months, you two need to get over your shit.
And it just devolved from there. I've put up with a lot of her shit, this was literally the straw that broke the camels back. I didn't talk to her for a few days until she pressed the issue, ended up telling her I want a divorce. Good luck with your Sister, I'm sure she will take care of you better than I did.
And I can go on and on, actually I have already written something up that I probably won't send to her because it won't make a difference. See attached text file if you're interested.
The Power of Divorce is fucking invigorating. I feel like me again.
