Yeah but that 50% is pretty standard for all events along with whatever else they are doing. This has been just that 50% for going on 2 weeks now with nothing else (the presents were awesome yea). They've had WAY better events in the past. I was expecting something grandiose for this big 1 year hub bub

Yeah it looked like they weren't too prepared or they had to spend a lot of time fixing shit from the raids and silver surfer or whatever so they fell behind on schedule. The cake thing looks good at least, assuming it's the same kind of cake, it gives a lot of good shit, not just loot either. Don't know if it'll be a different cake though.

Agree, the gifts were great, but the actual event itself has been pretty bland. Not sure if the 'meh' event is tied into the reason they didn't want to do any store sales, ie they expected a lot of new players and hoped they would spend on full price stuff. Assuming the cake pieces drop like they were on Test Center, it actually should be pretty good, assuming the cake stays the same as the gift one we got.

The downside is that the RIF/SIF/XP boost goes away at the same time the cake event starts. Nothing worse than going back to doing cosmics after one of these events, and seeing just how shitty the loot is at default settings. Hell, even with the event boost I popped more than 100 chests farming cosmic Juggernaut for a Shillelagh (that I never got) and I only got FOUR cosmic rings. I don't even like to think about what it'll be like without the event. Gaz needs to just leave one of these boosts running permanently like Blizzard did with D3 legendaries.

Also, all those yellow daily boxes we've been hording will drop the improved quality loot after the patch, but the quantity will drop down.

Cake should make up for it if it drops decently (don't forget that Test has a loot buff running though), but I'm not sure if you'll get the same 'lootsplosion' that the first cake gave. Three uniques and three uncommon/rare runes and whatever else was in the cake that I've forgotten might be overly optimistic.

On an unrelated topic, anyone play Loki regularly enough to know if bouncing bolt got nerfed badly in 1.0? I spec'ed back into it for leveling and feel like I'm constantly out of spirit because everything takes forever to die. Hate to burn a retcon on a character I don't care about other than for synergy, but it's going to take forever to get to 50 like this.

Is there a buff on test? Different one I mean? Cause there's some posts on the test forum bitching about cosmic chests since the aniversary buff isn't actually on test, so they see how chests are for real(and yeah it's fucking awful). To be honest I assumed the chests now were the way they were supposed to be, I didn't know it was because of the temporary buff, when I saw that I was like "ehhh". Makes killing all the trash pretty fucking worthless with how little you get from them.

That's one thing Diablo has over Marvel, when they ran their 100%legendary drop rate buff event and saw people petitioning for it to be permanent, they said "eh whatever, let's make it permanent". On this though Gaz makes money out of the various boosts so I doubt they'll do the same, it'd be basically reducing their income. I think it'll feel pretty shitty. Hell I thought leveling my first char was pretty slow and that was with the 50% bonus. With the buff gone I'll be at 50% again(2 60s) so it'll be as slow, not sure I like that.

Maybe I'm thinking of the previous test patch then, haven't really doing much on it since the cake event started there. Cake slices shouldn't be bad either way, and events like this are really the only times it's worth popping SIF boosts anyway. I'm more concerned about what's going to happen to cosmic/daily chests and the cakes themselves post-patch.

Don't think TC has a loot boost atm, at least not for cosmic chests. In that TC thread someone posted some pics of the loot drops, and looks like it's back to the shit drops, 5 gear drops plus whatever relics/rings/etc. Keep saying it but as much as I love most of the stuff Gaz does, their handling of loot is just bad. They tinker with drop rates and RARELY announce it, usually only saying something if it's something bug related or unintended.

Retcons, Fortune Cards and Unstables pretty much never drop now, used to always get at least a couple Retons/Cards over a decent play session, haven't seen either in weeks now. Unstables actually started dropping more during the Reaper event but they soon axed that. That pisses me off because you need Unstables in so many crafting recipes, so you either gotta spend splinters or buy them with Gs.

Now that you mention it, I can't remember the last time I got a fortune card drop. Pretty sure it's been over a month and I play pretty much every day.

P.S. I'm gonna be playing pretty much all night tonight, got characters in most level ranges. If anyone wants to pull some midtown legendary/shared quest rerolling for Omega farming let me know. It's much better doing it with a group, and currently you can still complete shared quests in a raid with no exp penalty. In game name is Ritley

Just farmed Kurse for 5-6 hourstryingfailing to get a GotK before loot goes back to complete shit mode. 537% RIF, average of about 3 minute runs, and the only things of note that I got were 4 Ms. Marvel uniques, a red muramasa blade, two unstable molecules, and a phoenix feather that's about 2% better than what I already have equipped. Going from 187% to 537% RIF wasn't noticeable in the slightest; I got better loot yesterday/early this morning doing Juggernaut, including finally getting a Shillelagh after ~16 hours spent on it.

Boosts are definitely something I will never even consider spending G on.

That's been the general consensus for a while now. People have done extensive testing in the past, complete with charts, graphs, google docs, powerpoint presentations, etc. With max boosts + server wide event boosts the difference is negligible and definitely not worth spending money on. IIRC, it has a lot to do with the fact that each item that drops has to roll multiple times to go up the rarity ladder. End result is basically, loot buffs mostly increase the quality on the lower end. Less white and greens, more blues and purples.

Makes sense. It certainly didn't help my cosmic ring drop rate either. I still only got one of those the entire time I farmed at 537%.

On the bright side, servers are back up and they have extended the boosted drops.

Edit: Apparently the yellow chest boost wasn't retroactive. I got nothing but shit from the 10 I had stored. Average of 4 odins per box, and nothing but blue/purple items.

Alright so run this in google translate, click registration, first screen is bot test with an operation, it'll say X + Y = ?, you click the right numbern then it asks for your birth date(irrelevant but probably want a year that doesn't suck), agree to terms, then fill up the form as usual:
First one is Login name, Second leave blank, 3rd is password x2, need 8+character and potentially a number(not sure but my first pass had an error due to security reasons), 4th is email x2, then another bot test just copy the characters. Rest you leave as it is and click complete. They send you a mail, you click the first link in it to confirm registration. Then you go back to the link Byr provided, it has a clickable link in the first post(need to be logged in). Click that, click the key thing and a key for marvel should pop on your screen, then input in marvelheroes as usual. No need to post or anything.
