i was watching some videos and there is some fine print. Thor is still going to be Thor, but she will somehow share Thor's powers with him. sort of like how in Doctor Who Donna became Doctor Donna. also like how Cap was able to wield Moljnir. it's going to be lame, but i dont think Thor is going to get replaced. i feel a bit better about it.

I could suffer through Natalie as Thor if it was like < 1 minute, where she somehow wields the hammer and can do something with it. But if she starts kicking ass, throwing punches, etc, then I roll my eyes. That shit kills me. Like if you gave me super strength right now, I wouldn't magically be able to fight better or know how to throw a punch. Sure I could still win the fight, but I'm not magically turned into a ninja fighter. I think Shazam kind of handled this correctly?

But being Thor... she has to wield the hammer, and that's annoying because of the requirements to wield it. Like it was the biggest deal on earth when you see that hammer rise up then fly into Cap's hands, honestly one of the best scenes of the entire MCU, and then they're going to cheapen it by letting Natalie wield it? They better have one hell of a story.

If she replaced Thor, then I quit all MCU movies, lmao.

I know I'm being so negative, but I think part of my resentment is just fear of these really good movies turning bad because of all this SJW feminist shit. It drives me insane they shoehorn females into good male movies instead of making awesome female movies (ie, Wonder Woman)

She would have to go through some trials to be worthy, which she'll have to find difficult. She'll also need a reason to do it, so having cancer like in the comics and needing the power of the hammer to survive would work, it also makes the trials more difficult if she is physically fucked up. Then you have Thor stay Thor with Stormbreaker.

How is this movie going to be set up? Maybe Thor goes missing with the GotG and Valkerie asks Jane Foster for help since she's been studying portal science and can get them off world? Or she works for The Avengers now?

Have Thor's Hammer be in Shield HQ too so she can take it to help find him since's it's attuned to him somehow - reverse of Thor calling the hammer, have the hammer start to fly to Thor to find what direction he is in.

It's fixable, it could be good.

It might not be a throwaway entirely, could just be a theoretical science thing in the background with this guy's character in the mcu. I don't really remember, but isn't he established now-ish as head of some sort of science thing or something "significant"?

Beck had a creative team, so maybe one of them was familiar? Idk, maybe I am reaching to build logic..

Ironic you bring up Wonder Women, since Patty Jenkins was supposed to be the director of Thor 2, but Ike Perlmutter didn't like her story and direction and tried to make her do his idea, so she left and we got the Thor 2 that we got and she went on to do Wonder Woman. Perlmutter's reluctance to allow Feige to do women or minority lead films is basically why they are all coming out now, instead of sprinkled across the MCU. Feige wanted an earlier Captain Marvel, earlier Black Panther, Patty Jenkins on Thor 2 and I can't remember what the last straw was on Civil War that almost caused Feige to quit, but that was when Disney was like, "You dont report to Ike any more, you report directly to the top of the food chain, go make us billions unimpeded please". Then Perlmutter gave us Inhumans TV show while Feige gave us the rest of the MCU.

Mjolnir was shattered in Ragnarok by Hela. The one used in Endgame is borrowed from (and subsequently returned to) another timeline.

If she wields a hammer, they will have to perform some fuckery that will likely make the movie even shittier.

Read an article that Portman was signed for the part about 6 months ago. She also stated she realizes that she is gonna have to put in work to get "jacked." So it will be her swinging the hammer.

I mean, she looked buffer than Brie in Black Swan. I mean be realistic as well. Portman isn't going to pack on 20 lbs of muscle. All she has to do is at least define what she has. There aren't many actresses that are gonna properly look the part for a Lady Thor. You need someone like Gina Carano or something who actually has the body for it.

They are going to have Thor want to go off with on an adventure with the Guardians, and Eitri reforge a version of Mjolnir to leave a Thunder God/Protector on Earth. New Mjolnir get put in New Asgard to find whomever is worthy ala Captain America, with his wielding the old hammer giving Thor the idea so he can leave. Jane is in some observatory in Norway, and comes to visit for some reason after many failed attempts by others and picks up the hammer. Maybe she finds out she has cancer and goes to see if Asgardian medicine can help? Walks into the Hammer room, pulls the sword from the stone, I mean picks up the hammer and BAM, grrl pwr!.

Movie is Jane and Tessa Thompson fighting whatever Thor villian dejour, getting together, with Chris Hemworth bookending to join the Cosmic Marvel Universe and make way for Jane. "Who is she?" "Well, when I'm not here, she's Thor". Marvel pats itself on the back and rolls credits. Not the MCU we need but the MCU Disney Marvel thinks we deserve and will pay for.

Except she lied and only used that 'training' to cry about muh soggy knees some more. If she was really putting in 4 hours in the gym every day, she should have been at or surpassed the level of Linda Hamilton in T2.
