Yes, that's a 12 year old Natalie Portman in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood film.is that Kevin Costner's Robin Hood?
I have as much interest in this as I did Madame Web. Absolute zero. I despise the fat retard from stranger things and I hate anything to do with the useless black widows. Bucky not being Captain America is beyond infuriating. And I don't know who the rest of them are other than one being a gender swapped girlboss. It's the Marvel entry I am most interested in this year, but yeah, I fully expect this to start lower than Captain Falcon. Adjusting for inflation, almost certainly in the bottom five, possibly as bad as fighting with Ant-Man (I believe currently) for second worst.
Obviously if it is good you would hope it has some legs - I believe it doesn't have any major budget competition until Mission Impossible three weeks later, which had its own underwhelming results last time around as well. But it is also possible everyone just shrugs and waits for D+.
I guess we'll see if there's any embarrassing "Thanos is coming back!" marketing a la The Marvels as to how worried Disney is.
With a little over three months to go before the movie premieres, stars Joseph Quinn and Vanessa Kirby broke down how they updated their classic characters. For Quinn, it was about finding what made him interesting to a modern audience.
“Myself and [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally,” he told Entertainment Weekly on Thursday. “He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don’t think so. This version of Johnny is less callous with other people’s feelings.”
Meanwhile, when Kirby took on the Invisible Woman, she went into it looking to figure out how to make her feel like less of a “doormat” than if she was actually in the 1960s.
“If you played an exact ’60s Sue today, everyone would think she was a bit of a doormat,” Kirby said. “So figuring out how to capture the essence of what she represented to each generation, where the gender politics were different, and embody that today, was one of the greatest joys of this.”
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is the first crack at adapting Marvel’s First Family into the MCU. The film is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s on a different Earth than the majority of Marvel’s films have taken place. Because of that, director Matt Shakman – who also was involved in the Disney+ series “WandaVision” – said the film feels much more standalone than other MCU properties do.
“We are our own universe, which is wonderful and liberating,” the filmmaker previously told Empire of the blockbuster, which takes place in a different reality than the rest of Marvel‘s movies and TV shows. “There’s really no [other] superheroes. There’s no Easter eggs. There’s no running into Iron Man or whatever. They’re it in this universe. I love the interconnected Marvel Universe, but we get to do something so new and so different.”
No. Simply amazed that they aren't learning from their long list of giant failures with girl boss types that no one wants to see. Men don't want to see them. Women don't want to see them. 100% this Sue person is going to be a carbon copy of Captain Marvel. Is literally one person on Earth surprised that they decided to turn a modern Sue into agirlbossmomboss? Especially in a world that's culturally set in the late 50s / early 60s?
I'm more impressed that Disney is more than happy to lose hundreds of millions of dollars to maintain "the message". Is ActBlue funneling money to their coffers? Not surprised, just disappointed. Johnny Storm that is into his feelings and Sue Storm that is going to tell men in the 50's that women can do anything they can!!!!!! sounds like a retarded fucking movie.

I knew it was a lost cause when I saw the cast. FFS, a bunch of geriatrics in the main roles. I can't imagine who they could have plugged into the role of Sue Storm to get an instant win

but they got some old woman who is going to have the presence of a used toothpick.
I'm guessing the movie will do just ok, but it won't be the reboot they want.
Movie will suck I'm sure but lol at 36 year old Vanessa Kirby being "some old woman."
That's where you are wrong, it will be the reboot they want.No. Simply amazed that they aren't learning from their long list of giant failures with girl boss types that no one wants to see.
