Funny but a variation of that's a good idea, actually. Clint Eastwood actually tells actors he directs to emphasize visual expression over dialogue quite a lot. When he was acting a lot more, Clint used to get called out for skipping lines and just communicating with facial expressions and gestures and they'd end up keeping that.

What Fisk wanted to accomplishwaspragmatic and sound. That's why he was able to be the hero to the public for a while. Everyone seems to agree that Hell's Kitchen has problems that need to be fixed, Matt Murdock included. It washowFisk was enacting his plan that was the problem: killing people who refuse to move out, bombing buildings, corrupting the police force, supporting gangs, driving the drug trade, etc. Fisk's plan for cleaning up Hell's Kitchen was very "the end justifies the means" where he decided nothing was off limits if it meant he could take over the city to rebuild it in his image.
LOL

Seriously, how did people miss this.

Dunno but people at work made the same comments. So apparently it wasn't communicated that clearly.

Also, not sure I liked their depiction of the King Pin. The guy spoke like a retard and wasn't particularly charismatic. How could such a person have so many people under his command? Throw money at them? How did he amass his wealth? He obviously came from a poor family.

Decapitating people with car doors probably does wonders for a "rule through fear" sort of person. You don't have to be charismatic to command people when you're really smart, brutally violent, and ruthless. Some of his subordinates/partners questioned following his orders and look what happened to them.

Anyway, this was an origin story for the Kingpin as much as it was for Daredevil.

I didn't miss it. I just didn't really care. Someone is going to perpetuate organized crime there. Someone is going to gentrify neighborhoods with shady dealings. At least he was trying to make a better tomorrow with it all rather than a quick buck. He was willing to put down entire segments of his organization that he found distasteful.

In Daredevils case in the TV series his suit wasn't made by him. It was made by a guy who is naturally creative, maybe he felt the horns just looked cool so he put them on his suit. The rest of it was more practical. Red for slashing, black for stabbing etc.
I think the horns and colors were largely Matt's idea. Remember when he commissioned the guy, he told him he wanted him to make a symbol. He must have at least said 'make me a devil costume' even if he didn't specify horns and red colors. What I thought was weak was the explanation for the different colors. He didn't have time so the red parts of the suit are weaker?

I just finished the season last night and had been refraining from reading this thread. First, for some reason, I didn't realize Fisk was Private Pyle until like Episode 10. I thought he was just a bad actor, but now I'm thinking he's actually pretty good and must have been doing the over-acting thing on purpose. My wife thought his speech patterns worked great for the role. Though, she also likes William Shatner so ....

For some reason the final episode had a ton of 'really?' moments that weren't there the rest of the season. I don't know if they just got sloppy or if my suspension of disbelief faded. Like them arresting the senator, the lawyers, and the secretary at the paper. What could they possibly have on the secretary? So she took money to inform someone what was going on. She's not a public official, what's illegal about that? It's a giant stretch to say she had anything to do with Ben's murder. And even if the senator was guilty, there's no way they'd be able to touch him, those fuckers are above the law. Almost the same with the lawyers. My wife thinks the lawyers could be arrested for hiding criminal activity, but if a lawyer can't do that, then why do they even exist? Maybe they had a lot more on those people than they bothered to explain. I liked that one person talking brought it all down around his ears like that. I mean, when you've paid off thousands of people and just one of them can cause this kind of damage, you've got a bad business plan.

I don't really like them releasing the series all at once, because it means we can't have an active discussion after each episode. We have to treat it like a movie and come talk about it once we've seen the entire thing.

Did you notice the word former? Pretty sure he was arrested for things he did after he left office to hide the things he did while in office. Take a look at the house bank scandal. No arrests or indictments there because everyone was a sitting congressman. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not sure what it takes for a sitting congressman to be arrested.

They just cast Elektra. Elodie Yung

She pretty much played a similar character in GI JOE. Bottom pic is from Joe, not Daredevil.

I mean, I get that everything is a lot more low key in the ass end of the marvel cinematic universe, but no Punisher skull? What the fuck.

Calm down, I'm sure he will get the Punisher Skull. We don't have any reference of what time this is happening in his story line, or if this is even the full costume.

Just a picture from the set that will show how his hair will look etc

I'm just gonna assume his family hasn't died yet in that picture. Screw you hippies, Punisher ALWAYS has his skull. Fuck, even Rachel Cole-Alves used the skull in 616 once Castle was locked up and she took over.
