edit the files for more exp once you go through the game or do it the first time if it doesn't matter to you.

Btw is their any difference at all for the quest "lost lambs" between killing them and not killing them?

You can't actually get 20% xp, I tried, the 2 hirelings don't stack. So basically 32ish is the maximum level attainable in the game unless you manage to get respawns, which from the various reports seems to be more of a bug than an actual feature. The achievement is probably from a while ago and they had to cut content for release. If they had like a randomized dungeon with respawning mobs it'd be pretty nice for grinding xp.

As for lost lambs I did the quest with saving them on my 4mages to see. You get nothing. You do lose about 500xp from not killing the bandits though. At the end of the game in the credits there's some little thing where it shows the results of quests where you had a choice(of which there is only 2 anyway, this one and Lord Haart's quest).

Ah ok, I was figuring letting them go would be a net loss.

Also just noticed the master crits from mace/axe with a group wide hit weapon can proc on all the mobs

Ok, so wtf.

I found a simple "Wooden Shield" in the first spider well dungeon, and it fucking requires Expert Shields just to equip it? LOL?

And what's with this 50% block chance stuff? What is going on there? Everyone just has a base 50% chance to avoid/block attacks? My crusader did dick shit against the Spider Queen, was either blocked or evaded 100% of the time. Sweet.

Normal mobs don't have blocks, unless they have shields. Bosses and elites all have a base block amount/rate. Blocks work like this though, each character get a certain amount of blocks, in terms of players for example 2H or Dual Wield get 1 block each while using a shield gives you 2blocks. The amount of blocks is the amount of rolls you can do on a successful attack. It rolls for evade first(evade vs attack value of opponent) then if it's a hit it rolls for block at your block %(which is 50% base). It does that for as many block attempts you have but once the rolls are depleted you can't block anymore this turn(unless you're a dwarven defender using your big skill thing or if you have GM shield but that's players only). What this means is you can "bait" blocks on enemies by attacking with a shittier character first then using your hard hitters to do the damage once the blocks are depleted. Most early mobs with blocks only have 1 block but like shield guys have 2 or more. Dual wield counts as separate attacks so a DW hitting both hits can deplete 2block charges.

But yeah blocks are annoying as melee, that's part of the trade off for not using mana on every attack. Note that if you do use mana via Warfare expert, you can actually hit 100% of the time for 5mana per attack, and as far as I've seen these attacks do deplete block count too. So you use your 100% hit chance to deplete the blocks then use other chars to do easy damage, other than evades which are a lot more rare as long as you lvl weaponskills.

As for expert shields, it's just a stronger category of shields, you find them right away because they're meant for chars who want to use good shields and not just shitty bucklers. Expert shield only takes 2 levels.

I am one dumb sonofabitch. I basically cleared the ENTIRE overland map and every dungeon accessible from land, and never got the blessing of shalalalalawhatever that lets you walk on water, so I was completely stuck, and wondering why that hadn't come along yet in the storyline. So I finally give in and look for an online spoiler to find out where the water shard is. Then I realize I'd already been carrying it around for probably 20 hours of playtime and never noticed that I received it. Blech.

I love this game, it does absolutely no hand-holding as far as quests and where to go. You're lucky if you even get a general clue like "south of the Crag" for a quest, even though that still encompasses a large area to search.

One minor gripe though about the Naga in the lighthouse that wants you to find his sword
You get that quest early in the game, can't complete it until dozens of hours later, the guy is the DUAL WIELD MASTER TRAINER, and he rewards you with a 2H sword. WTF? That was a lot of work for nothing.

Well there's 2 relic swords if you want to DW swords. That's 1 more than any other weapon you'd want to DW, and 2more than relic daggers of which there's a grand total of 0.

One from the starsilver meteor quest in seahaven where you have to pick it up near the crag and the second is the obelisks quest which you should be able to finish if you have gotten the water blessing now. Both are fairly boring weapons though, starsilver is +9 to all damage types(or maybe +6 I forgot) and the other is a fire sword that does like aoe fire dmg on hit.

Interesting thing about relic weapons though is they're really good when you get them around lvl 15-20 or earlier if at all possible(like the uplay relic those are broken) but endgame they're just like normal weapons and you're better off finding a good blue instead, like a +6 sword. My freemage in my 4mage group was dual wielding orbs I bought from the vendors that gave +11air magic total, in comparison the relic air staff gives +5 and some shitty side effects.

Yes but it's basically one of the last relic you can acquire, it's in the end dungeon. The only one that comes later is the reward for the saga quest since one of the books is also in the dungeon(so you need to finish it then go out and finish the quest).

Here's the thread that has the stats of all the relics as well as some that are in the gamefiles but aren't in the game itself. On the last page I made a post that has the location of most of them, think I was only missing one and that's cause I forgot to note down where you get it(the arcane resist hat, it's a mysterious or dangerous cave somewhere). The OP is also not updated unlike what the title suggests, so you'll have to read the other posts in the thread to find all the stats.

Does this have any sort of new game+ mode to continue on and re-play with harder mobs and better loot?

Was curious since that lvl 40 achievement listing that was referenced earlier specifically mentioned "in a single play-through", which I assumed it was implying that you could continue on with your same party again after you finished, maybe in a harder mode or something.

Do you need any shards outside of earth to do the blademaster promotion? Just got into ACT II with my new team and haven't done it in the past. Got the quest, just curious if there is an artifical limitation to complete like need a shard of XXX or just a difficulty challenge to complete

Is there anyway to release a character? Like the Paladin I have I don't really like. Rather have 2 rune priests.

Wish I would have known there Fireballs would be that good.

So is this a buy? I haven't followed the thread in a while, but pre-release it wasn't looking too good.

They got a miracle patch - it's quite solid. A few oddities like engine getting really laggy at points, but the gameplay is worth it.

Clearly some budget issues show up though, but unless the occasional framerate drop (talking huge ones at times - there was a brief time I got 5 or so fps it felt like in the plateau area the first time through, zero second time through however...), shitty textures and a few balance/skill oddities are gamebreakers for you it's absolutely worth $25.

yes its awesome, beat the game today felt very satisfied, put in a good 30+ hours and hella long gaming sessions. only other games that I did that for in the past 12 months are AC4 (ps4), bf4 (pc), tomb raider (pc), and final fantasy xiv (pc). for $25 or less its totally a no brainer buy.
