Been out for a while, but I have a few pictures saved since digital cameras were just getting big. We deployed constantly because my unit didn't fall under a scheduled rotation.

I also had an Alienware back when they were cool. Managed to take it with me for a few trips. I present the ultimate 2004(ish) deployed Jerkstation!View attachment 153173
That's pretty much par for the course on how anyone felt about me that didn't work directly with me. My first interaction with my commander was him reading me my rights and accusing me of malingering. I never talked to my co workers about my health problems and those were the only people he asked. My rebuttal was 2700 pages of medical documents including 3 miserably failed surgeries and 2 eight hour tests ( TBI / Cognition related ) where I was studied by a panel of neuropsychologists that specifically ruled out malingering. Is it bad my friends and I are pretty jaded to the point that assuming anyone like you with the above stated benefits is like 80% POS malingerer?
Hate knowing some folk who've pushed thru awful shit and boot strap or worse actually had major injuries, then you see these fucking fags working full time jobs on their feet while on 100% for like vague back pain + mah feelings ptsd and maybe some slight hearing loss.
Guy in one of my units was medically seperated for knee problems. Hes now a forest service fire fighter. Is it bad my friends and I are pretty jaded to the point that assuming anyone like you with the above stated benefits is like 80% POS malingerer?

Anecdotal I know, but way more people than I could have imagined got out with 'disabilities'. It's no secret the law gives disabled Vets huge benefits, and I witnessed people exploiting it firsthand. I even recall a doc I making an off-the-cuff remark about making sure something was documented because it will 'help my disability claim' when I was only there for a routine physical.
The worst was Sleep Apnea. I know people have problems, but damn... it seemed like everyone had it and was non-deployable. How much of that could be directly attributed to service? I loved getting fucked sideways with back-to-back deployments because everyone else was on medical.
I had all kinds of problems when I got out and only got 5 points vet preference. I guess I didn't game the system enough.
When I was getting out, on Pendleton at the transition class they had a few old vets who really wanted you to bring in your medical records so they could point out everything you should go vile with the VA.Not just you, I know a few people claiming 'disability', like 90% and trying for 100% so he doesnt have to pay VA taxes. Yet he's out shooting hoops with his son. Another high school 'aquaintance' is on the non-military disability, and posted pictures of him jumping around back when Kinect was new lol ;\
Mah back!
