Mission Impossible past 4 or so is just Johnny Knoxville with more budget and less jokes. They don't even market them with anything in the movie anymore, and mostly Tom Cruise breaking his toe or loosing some teeth in some dumb stunt.

The first one is a masterpiece. Even the gimmicky fake face is a direct nod to the old TV show. 2 & 3 are arguable. After that, they're all great action flicks. Gimmie more Mission Impossible for spy shit, Rambo for war shit, and Conan the Barbarian for sword-wielding hero shit.

MI:1 is just shot so beautifully. I always finish watching it if I flip past it on tv or a streaming channel.

2 is dogshit outside of ogling whatever her name’s tits at the beginning.

3 I want to like because of Philip Seymour but he really just doesn’t get enough screen time and I get annoyed at how incompetent the IMF is on their own soil and how easily they just fuck everything up.

4 and on are more re-watchable to me.

I loved experiencing the giant Birj Khalifa tower via MI4. That really made the stunt game in this movie series take off. They can only up themselves, which is how 5, 6 & 7 went.

Fast and furious did it better. And Tom Cruise doing his own stunts is laughable. People act like he's Travis Pastrana or something. He's an out of shape manlet.
