Yeah I mean, good for him and all, but surely part of him has to feel like less than the champ. He knows that every single person out there, outside of probably folks in his camp (and secretly probably some of them), simply don't consider him the champ until he beats Jones.

Gustafsson has not been very impressive in his last few fights imo.
Didn't he just get KO'd by the Rumble, who looked weak vs Cormier.


Rockhold and Weidman is going to be sweet !

His last few fights? He lost to Rumble, beat an undefeated Manuwa pretty convincingly, and lost a close decision against Jones after being the first fighter to really challenge him. Before that his only professional MMA loss was to Phil Davis back in 2010.

He certainly looked better against Jones than Cormier did.

I assume the UFC is paying him back for taking his title shot and giving it to DC after they saw how much money the DC hypetrain would make. Then they gave him Rumble who curbstomped him, so this is their reward for getting pushed aside and Rumblesmashed, a title shot off a loss. Yay! (Cause really, who wanted to see Bader fight for a title shot anyhow, trollollolloll).

Yea I like the match up. Gus got caught in the Rumble fight which really wasn't all that surprising...anyone could get KO'd by him imo. Hopefully Gus and Cormier will be a good enough distraction while Jones has his shit situated.

Gus is a much more interesting fight than Bader. At least Gus has a superior stand up game. DC also expressed how he knows he won't be real champ until he beats Jones.

They'll drop the PED rules once a PPV fighter blows off.

Like I posted earlier, if I were Jones I just wouldn't come back. Retire with an undefeated record as the real LHW champ, and for years nobody who holds it will be the legitimate champ.

If he hasn't pissed it away (which seems highly probable) he should have plenty of money to live on for a long time. Most people who make money would rather piss it away though

Yeah that's the real question, is how much of his winnings has gone up his nose. And it may be that he just likes fighting. I could see him thumbing his nose at the UFC to crush cans in Bellator for awhile, but a fluke loss over there would destroy him. So yeah, he'll be back in the UFC at some point, and be LHW champ within a couple fights of his return unless the UFC decides to fuck him over.

I'm not sure he could just bolt over to Bellator anyway. He is suspended from the UFC, but he is still under contract. You know there is no way the UFC will let him walk, regardless of what charges he is facing.
