Correct me if I am mistaken, but wasn't Holm supposed to be the "next big thing" in women's mma? Yet, I seem to remember the two fights I've watched with her being snoozefests and the most recent one (one of those free fight nights) being a toss-up to everyone but the judges. TBH I'd rather see Rousey and Tate than this one.

Edit: Forgot to add that both fights were boring as hell "points" fights, and Holm needs to STFU with her tennis level grunting after every swing.

Yes, people were (are?) pretty high on Holm getting into the UFC. I still think she has a potentially very high ceiling, but now is absolutely not the time to put her in against Rousey. Holm's striking is far and away better than Ronda's, but her clinch and ground game is so very far behind that it is only a matter of time before Ronda gets her hands on her and tosses her on her head. If she had another year+ of training, I think it would at least give Holm a better chance, but right now she just isn't ready.

Oh well.

Would've given Holm a couple more fights, but whatever, feed her to Ronda. Really ready for Khabib, to you know, actually get in the ring again.

I think they are so desperate for matchups that they are going to feed her to Ronda way too early, then hope Ronda sticks around long enough for Holm to actually progress to the point that a rematch is appealing. That way they get to make money of Rousey v Holm twice. If Ronda doesn't end up sticking in MMA that long, then they were only going to get one fight between them anyways and Ronda was always going to be the draw. It is basically a win/win for UFC money outside of the now seemingly rare possibility that Holm becomes a KO machine in a year or two.

Why isn't the UFC pushing him hard? He's got that Hispanic thing going on that they love, his fights are exciting and he finishes, and he is a TUF winner. So, why is there no big push for him? I guess the Tibau fight is probably the start of his hype train, but it feels like he should have been getting more hype already.

I don't think it'll be as bad as you think. Ronda gives no fucks, came across as a complete cunt in TUF, and is still more popular than ever.
