Anyone plan on watching Bellator tonight? I'm slightly intrigued by the tournament, and would love to see Ortiz get beat up again.

Hang on, Fedor signed with Bellator? Fucking lame

And yes, nice KO by Davis there.

He didn't sign with Bellator. The old head of Pride is starting a new orgaization/event, and Bellator is lending some of their fighters and Spike is broadcasting it in the US. But Fedor is technically with this new organization.

He didn't sign with Bellator and from what I seen, they really don't have much to do with him. Spike is just broadcasting Sakakibara's NYE show.

Fedor Emelianenko To Fight On Spike TV On New Year's Eve

FEDOR EMELIANENKO TO FIGHT ON SPIKE TV

ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

San Jose, CA, September 19, 2015 - Spike TV will celebrate New Year's Eve with an MMA mega-event featuring mixed martial arts worldwide legend Fedor Emelianenko.

Emanating from Tokyo, Japan, the event marks the debut of a new global MMA promotion run by former Pride President Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

Bellator will partner with Mr. Sakakibara on the MMA extravaganza and will have fighters from its roster participating. The event will be broadcast to Spike's 93 million homes in the United States.

Fedor's opponent and further details on the event will be announced at a later date.

"We are thrilled to join forces with Nobuyuki Sakakibara and our partner Bellator President Scott Coker to give MMA fans a big reason to celebrate this New Year's Eve - Fedor fighting FREE on Spike!" said Kevin Kay, Spike President.

Fedor last fought in June, 2012 and scored a first round KO over Pedro Rizzo. The Russian MMA superstar will look to repeat history on Dec 31 in Tokyo. In 2011, on New Year's Eve, Fedor thrilled the Tokyo crowd with a punishing first round KO over Satoshi Ishii.

On InsideMMA last night Bad said he thought Fedor would be fighting on that NYE show, I got the impression he wasn't just guessing. The contract is only 2 fights apparently.

Phil ran through that tournament with easy, like I(and most folks) said he would.

Found Bas talking about his "theory".

Really curious to see what comes of this. Two fight deal put on huge shows in Japan and make some big cash, if it falls through UFC is always an option? If it works out and the shows explode in Japan, Pride style, then a second coming of Pride? Very interested to see what happens.

You guys were talking about Phil Davis and I was thinking, "Hmm, I didn't know there was a UFC this past weekend..."
