So Punk drew way more than he was expected to. My MMA stream didn't work, so I actually bought the PPV just to see him. The last PPV I bought was a Tyson fight from 20 years ago.

The UFC wanted this to go one way, there was more money to be made, but Mickey didn't do the job, he shot instead.

It makes me wonder how Brock vs Bobby would do. Bobby just signed a new deal with Bellator and Brock could be suspended for a couple years due to PEDS so it'll never happen sadly.

Well, it isn't quite the barn burner that Cerrone vs Lawler would have been, but at least we still get to see Cowboy fight at 205

Damn, boy gotta work on his Judo Defense. He kept getting caught with that outside trip. First it led to mount and some light ground and pound, but eventually after his opponent landed a few more trips; we got an innovative new submission from aerial reverse back mount in the men's emoweight division, which seems to already be catching on!

Maybe it's a dumb idea, but I think the UFC should offer a prospect fight on the main card of their PPV's from time to time. I'd like to see Gall vs. Northcutt. They could even offer fights like the co-main coming up this weekend in Brunson vs. Hall if they don't want to pit two fighters undefeated or with one loss against one another just yet. I think maybe the only bad thing about that idea is there would be some 7-0 guys that most folks have never heard of have a boring fight. Not much thought put into that idea yet, but figured I'd throw it out there.

Who gets the HW title shot? Cain or Fabricio? Should they fight to decide or does one guy get the nod and the other gets Josh Barnett? I think it should be Cain, but he's injured so much you can almost bet that the fight won't take place the day that it's supposed to and Werdum will get called up anyway.

Yeah I don't like the champ being on the shelf for that long, seems stupid. I mean I get why they are doing it, since the HW division is so thin, but it still sucks.

On a positive note, Weidman vs Romero was added to 205. So far there are a few good fights lined up for 205, but I don't think they have a main event yet.

So glad that 205 got Woodley and Thompson...now that card has some interest for me. Wonderboy should win the belt. Woodley is a quick guy though...just don't see him getting past that ridiculous stand up. With a main event now though, the card is shaping up. Wouldn't be surprised if they added another title fight to it though. Jones vs. DC II is a little far fetched, but who knows.

Seems they are at least trying to become Strikeforce again...I don't mind their recent signings either. As long as they do things the way they do, they just can't compete with the UFC. The next big thing out of Bellator is MVP. Once that happens, and he makes his way to the UFC I think that seals the deal. That LHW they have, Liam McGeary, would be a great addition to the UFC. But Bellator hasn't pushed him very hard and not many people know about him. No reason an 11-0 LHW should be fighting over there. Maybe if he beats Phil Davis, he can get out of that contract and the UFC can actually do something with him.

Perhaps they can get away from those dumb every once in a while fights for now. One would hope that the days of signing Kimbo like fighters no longer exists...but chances are CM Punk will be fighting someone that will stand with him in the next 8-12 months and they'll get their share too after running their promos (which really aren't bad).

P.S. I forgot that there was a Bellator event on tonight.

Looking forward to the Brunson vs. Hall fight tonight. It's either going to be really exciting, or Hall getting wrestle raped the entire time. Brunson can do either but hopefully it'll be a good one.

As for Poirier vs. Johnson, I always seem to forget that Poirier has such a good record. 20-4 ain't bad. I always seem to think he's lost a lot more than that. Will be interesting to see if Johnson can rebound from his last two losses.

I find I just can't get excited about a Hall fight anymore, because he typically ends up being disappointing.

Poirier has been on a tear since moving to 155, and I think he is going to absolutely dismantle Johnson.
