I do not want to see anymore DC/Jones matches. The result will not change even if it's at Heavyweight. I'd rather see DC/Ngannou.

I don't understand the logic behind this matchup other than "they're both fairly popular and we'll make some money." Jones CLEARLY has DC's number. The only people who have ever challenged Jones had similar wingspans. DC gives up a full fucking FOOT of reach to Jones. That's comical, and explains almost entirely the predictability of the outcomes.

DC being fatter and Jones being stronger at HW changes nothing. If anything, it makes the matchup worse.

the only positive would be that it would actually wake up JJ from his slumber and actually fight, or we can see more boring santos and smith yawn.

DC said he would not retire on a lost, but i don't know what he would do a demand for JJ rematch then.
if DC wins and does face JJ, think he would get smashed.

does anyone ever bet on the fights? i'm not a gambler but my brother has an app so dropping 10 on a main fight at the pub every now and then is a thing. i have lost 100% of the time. so i checked it out and a multi on all 11 underdogs for this card of 10 dollars pays off nearly 700,000. i reckon this is a great betting sport because its chaotic as fuck, does anyone here have any success?

Chaos and consistent results are antithetical. Gambling on chaotic events is a great way to set money on fire, as you have apparently already experienced. There are so many gambling companies because they make a fuckload of profit- which means you the client are consistently losing money.

Gambling as best thought of as spending money for an endorphin rush, IMO. If that floats your boat then go to town, but you have to be prepared to treat it as an expense with no return.

To be clear, you are talking about an 11 pick parlay of all underdog fighters? You might as well spend that $10 on a good beer.

I am not into phone or app gambling. Seems like a bad habit.

Me and my friends make side bets, $10 a fight. Loser of the last fight gets to pick the next one. It is pretty fun. As you can imagine, we usually end up close to even at the end of the night. But, I have had some bad luck before and ended down like $50. That fucking Tyrone Woodley vs Usman card was a rough one for me.

I bet on them when I am in Vegas. I have always ended up ahead, with my biggest win coming on Forest Griffin vs Rampage. I think I won like $400. The other big win was Darren Elkins vs Bektic at UFC 209. He was a massive underdog, like +600. He was getting his ass kicked and it is amazing the fight wasn't stopped two or three different times. Then, out of nowhere he lands the KO. The crowd went bonkers. I think 90% the people in there had big money on the underdog.

i get how odds work and gambling fortunately isn't one of my addictions, i've traded shares and currencies and now mostly stick to indexes (after gold and ammo was sorted). but comparing to say powerball, the odds of 11 almost* 50/50 fights for 70,000 to 1 odds just seems to be like an undertuned boss mob with nice drops. just from an odds perspective. although i still don't get how the -100 +100 vegas odds system works. it's like trying to learn the imperial system of measurement i guess ... pointless. metric for life bitches.

i think we call probably have a few takeaways for betting.

always bet AGAINST the one that barely made weight, can't even walk to the scale and looks like death

always bet on the one who comes in OVERweight

bitches and midgets usually decision, pick a round you like.

always bet on Jon Jones.

If you see a match that is -100 favored vs +100 underdog, means its an even fight.

For a better written representation of favored/underdog payouts, here is a quick example.

If you are betting on a fighter that has +300, you have to pay $100 to win $300.

If you are betting on a fighter that has -300, you have to pay $300 to win $100.

11 almost* 50/50 fights for 70,000 to 1 odds

If that were really the case, you should have entered 2,048 times covering each possible victory combination and pocketed a guaranteed 35x return. (Which means that those were probably not the actual odds, since someone at the betting company certainly did that math.)

This is why I don't gamble. In order to win you have to either a) rig the game, which is what the betting companies do, or b) be right about something that you think you know that everyone else doesn't. I don't have time or inclination to research C-tier fighters, so I don't bet on them. It's far better leverage on my time and more consistently rewarding to just work a couple extra hours and watch the fights while eating a nice meal.
