Don't see the judges giving this to Edgar, but he definitely fought much harder than Aldo. It's two rounds a piece and one round is a toss up which means it stays with the champ.

Two judges scored it 49-46? Suck my fucking dick you incompetent faggots.

Really tough fight to call, all depends on that third round that I thought could've been a draw. Sucks to be a judge right now but I'd be happy with the decision going either way

Surprised at the 2 49-46's. I thought rd 4 for Edgar, rd. 5 probably Edgar, and rd. 3 2 of 3 would pick Aldo.

Rogan made this fight sound much closer than it was. Edgar hit 1 punch and got hit by 2 right back and looked like a mess afterwards.

I just wonder if the refs might have given Edgar a round, because he got him down for 0,4 seconds and scored it a takedown.

Exactly what happened. He was way to overconfident from the very start, chin out, hands down the whole time, and paid the price big time. Figure a guy with 48 professional fights would be more smart lol.
The dude thought he was Anderson Silva complete with him trying to Matrix it up like Anderson does.

48-47 aldo was the right call. Aldo's timing in those first two rounds was just amazing.

I haven't been so happy about a fight's ending (referring to silva/overeem) since Nog knocked out Brendan Schaub.

My favorite part is Herb standing two feet from Silva as Overeem is clearly out on his feet, Dean looks at Silva and kinda puts on a "Do I Dare Try To Get Between A Bear and His Kill?" face, and hesitates that extra second to let Silva send Overeem collapsing to the canvas.

Yeah I want to see a replay of Silva standing over Overeem's corpse while Herb (who is a big dude) is just hugging his back ineffectively.

Just got home from the bar, crazzzzzy night of fights.

I almost shit my pants when Maia won, I changed my pick to him at the last possible second.

Also WTF Rashad? Hole in his leg from staph tomorrow or something?

What the hell, really? I thought Pettis was already a pretty good sized LW, won't he struggle to get to 145? Could be an entertaining fight though, that is for sure.

I think there is 10 pounds more to lose there

That's more like it. That's the kind of competitive fight that Aldo hasn't had, imo. Sure Frankie beat him rounds tonight, but I think Pettis is the kind of guy to take it to him stylistically.

Yeah I can see Pettis making 145 pretty easy. I thought he actually looked pretty small against Cerrone, or at least smaller than I remembered him being compared to his fights with Henderson and Guida.

And those judges in the Aldo / Edgar fight were horrible, jesus. I thought Aldo had it before the announcement but it was a hell of a good fight and a lot closer than 49-46 (wtf?). At least one judge was actually watching the fight with the 48-47.

Rashad going full retard again. No clue what the hell he was thinking. Maybe he thought he was an elite striker again after training with Reem lol.

And I wonder who gets Cain now. It seemed pretty obvious they were setting it up to be Overeem, but that's out the window now. I guess Cain vs JDS 3? I'd rather see Cormier in there after he beats Mir but I guess these two don't want to fight each other.

edit: And does anyone else think Frankie is gonna pull a Kenny Florian and try drop to 135 to go against Cruz? If you can't be the champ in 2 divisions try to go for a 3rd division! Pretty sure he'd beat the shit out of Cruz if he could make the weight though.

At the pc Dana says Cain and Daniel have never said that they wouldn't fight each other. That makes the most sense now I guess. It kind of makes you wonder how long Jon Jones will stay at light heavyweight now with the next weight class in such disarray.

As for Rashad...he used to be one of my favorite fighters but wtf was that. After watching Maia vs. Fitch I definitely didn't want to see a grapplefest but come the fuck on Rashad. It seems like you'd know what you have to do to win after a certain point.

And I've always been a huge fan of Hieron and it sucked to see him lose like that but I did pick Woodley. I think that loss to Marquardt humbled him and he'll do some good shit at 170 now.

Well in the most recent interviews with Cormier, he said he plans on fighting Mir and then going down to 205 for Jones in the fall. Obviously just him talking at this point though and may very well play out differently once dollar bills start being thrown into the fray. And assuming he can make 205 healthy (didn't he have some sort of kidney failure when wrestling at that weight?).

And I imagine Jones will be content at staying LHW while he remains the champ unless they start offering him big money to move up.
