There's an outcrop on the west side and what looks something similar on the other side of the chasm, I presume that's what you mean by broken bridge and if so, that's where I have been trying.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mXx-kyIk78The chap in this video spends from 2:15 or so to 4:30 trying to find it and seemingly lucks out, I had no such luck.

I eventually finished that quest by going back to the darkened cavern in area 6 and circling it for 10 mins for respawns and got the crystal bones I needed but figured I'd ask in here in case I need to go back again.

I've just unlocked the trader captain and cat chef, more reading to do!

I need to buy a Wii-U at some point it seems, although this thread died off fairly quickly on here.

Yeah that spot can be hard to find if you don't know where it is. Not sure what controller you use, but the classic controller pro (the one that came with the first copies on MHTri) are the best imo. Its a mix of classic snes and ps remotes, or something like that.

This thread did die quickly, for a few reasons. There aren't many MH fans on this board, MH tends to suck people in so much that you burn yourself out quickly, its more fun with friends but the online component is not the most player friendly experience.

I put 110+ hours in the first couple weeks and burned out badly. I played some here and there with my friend, but haven't gone back to daily playing just yet. (For MH3U)

The experience is great and if MH Online comes to America it'll be even better.

Yeah I got about 140 hours in a little over 3 weeks and burned myself out too, plus I have other games to play.

Just beat Giant Jaggi, the kill quest wasn't too bad and beat him first go but then took 3 attempts to finish the follow on capture quest. First time the bastard was angry at the same time he was injured so I didn't know until he keeled over, whoops! Second time I must have been letting him heal up too much when he was moving between areas as the first set of tranq bombs didn't do anything. Second attempt to tranq him I used a pitfall trap instead of a shock trap and when I threw the last 2 tranq bombs I had at him they both missed over his head >.< Third time was the charm but goddamn finishing that quest gave me the best gaming satisfaction I've had for a long time.

I ran the kill him quest once more to get the last lot of mats to finish off a full suit of Jaggi Armour. The multi coloured look was quite a surprise but if I'm out killing monsters the size of a house etc I guess there's no problem in looking fabulous doing it!

So fucking gutted I left it so late to try this game with the online servers only being turned off a couple of months ago >.<

Still using Sword&Board atm, not really found another type I like but I guess I should as the next sword upgrade is way out of reach and reading ahead a little it looks like I need a green sharpness weapon sooner rather than later.

Well the single player is definitely playable. Unfortunately you can't do everything you could online, but most of it is endgame stuff. MH3U gives more stuff to do offline to match the online play, but MHTri is still pretty good.

It never hurts to bring extra mats of the same type, instead of 3 tranqs bring 6, etcetc. I usually leave enough room to loot some just incase.. like I carry 10 whetstones so I can loot 10 if I need to or if I happen to find them.

Sword and Board is a good weapon, but MUCH better online for the status effect. SnB doesn't have enough damage to really be worthwhile offline, it is possible to do, but you'll finish monsters in twice in the time if you use a more dps focused weapon, which is basically any weapon but SnB.. lol. I'd avoid guns too because it is another more worthwhile online weapon. Definitely doable offline, but you'll spend a lot of time "learning the ropes" instead of just going for something like Hammer (my fav), Longsword, or Greatsword.

I just bought a 3DS a few weeks ago with MH and I'm digging it in 1h spurts. I played for like 8hr straight the first few days but was getting tiered of it so now I just slowed my roll. Right now I'm using the double blades. I just beat the Royal ... something or another. It is right after the fire bird.

On rare occasion when some friends show up with their 3DS we may hunt a bit and then on even rarer occasion when I feel like using my Wii U gamepad as a tv screen I'll play while watching something else. I put 110+ hours on it the last time I checked.

I'm waiting for MH4U and playing a backlog of PC games until then.

I just got a WiiU. I have Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii, but never really played it due to not having a TV (which I have now). Is it worth buying MH3HD for the WiiU? Should I not bother and just play my existing Tri copy?

MH3U has tons more content. Nearly everything you can do online you can also do offline. MH Tri's offline is garbage in comparison to MH3U(Or HD as you referred to it). Also MH Tri's online is no longer available.

Regardless, everything about MH3U is much better. There is easily 100-200+ hours of content in Tri and easily 200-300+ hours of content on MH3U. Unless you get burned out before that. With the sale going on there is almost no reason not to get MH3U.

Cool. I'll pick it up. I was deciding between that and Wind Waker HD (probably where I got the HD from) and wasn't sure which to go with first.

Downloadable as well unless your internet is not that good. I think the 50% is e-shop only anyways.

Not in my region unfortunately. I'll hit a couple of smaller shops downtown tomorrow, they might still have one in stock (or used).

What is your region? I have my WiiU copy of MH3U and honestly can't see myself going back to play it anymore. Really enjoyed it but will probably just wait for MH4 to dive back in.

Scandinavia. I am not sure how Nintendo splits up the regions, I think any European game might work on it.

Ah never mind then, it'd probably cost me more to ship it internationally than for you to buy one

The sale starts in Europe next week I think.
Sale is on now (until Feb 6th I think). Just bought MH3Ultimate for the 3DS. Never played a monster hunter game before. Used the chest and saw I had lots of weapons, went for the Katana... That size... Sepiroth would be jealous. Are some weapons more newb friendly than others, or should I just try them all, figure out what I like, then focus on them? Read here that I should focus on upgrading only 1-2 weapons, not all of them. I was thinking one ranged and one melee? Not sure the Katana is for me, I thought it would be more regular sized.
