Anyone attached to those short films involved? Those were pretty baller if I remember correctly.

Oh okay, so there was Rebirth and Legacy. Guess I had only a strong memory of the Rebirth short and not that it was damn almost 9 years ago. The Legacy stuff didn’t look that familiar for some reason. Oh well...

I'm concerned, but I'm not gonna lie that this excites me greatly. I actually just watched the original two weeks ago, because it is one of those guilty pleasure movies for me. I also watched the entire cinematic movie from the latest MK game in that time. Which is funny, because I don't think I've spent more than $10 in my entire life (including console games) on MK. I don't actually care about the games one bit, I just like that first movie for being so awesome and terrible at the same time. Back in the day, occasionally someone in our group of friends would call someone else, and as soon as they picked up, the MK movie theme got blasted into the phone.

So I'm cautiously excited. I need Kitana to be smoking hot though.

I'm pretty sure me and my friends helped put the arcade owners kid through school with the amount of money we spent on MK & SF2. The retarded schemes we came up with to get more quarters, was akin to the shit junkies will pull to get the next fix. If we had been smart, we could have bought our own cabinet.

I haven't played MK since the 3rd one I think?

First MK movie is one of of those cheesy cult favs for me now. The sequel was fucking awful.

Can't beat that soundtrack. Or the soundtrack from Annihilation, honestly. It was probably better than the movie.

The MK1 soundtrack was where I found out that Traci Lords had moved to electronic music.

What was that fan fic MK show that was like "if MK was real...ish" it had Baraka or something as some crazed doctor gutting street walkers and sub zero was some like shadow assassin? it had like gore and nudity. Centered around Sonya and...Jax? as police officers investigating this stuff i a gritty real world setting.

I thought that was suppose to turn into a "full" fledged show?

Funny though, in my opinion, MK1 is the "best" (less worse) of those video game adaptations.

I don't think anyone is expecting this movie to be anything but glorious schlock. If it was just an shot for shot remake of the original with updated costumes and effects I would be just as excited.
