One of my Dad's friends tried to get me to watch this movie for years and finally actually bought me the DVD. I expected it to be horrible and I still don't know why he wanted me to see it so badly, but it was pretty damn funny and I'm glad I finally watched it. Until you posted this I don't think I've ever run into anyone else that's seen it.

Overrated: Star Wars, Godfather, The Matrix, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pulp Fiction, King's Speech, Shawshank Redemption, On the Waterfront, 12 Angry Men, Rocky, Raging Bull, Platoon, The Silence of the Lambs, American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, Goodfellas.

Overrated: Memento. What a horrible movie everybody seems to love.
Underrated: Rush Hour. Yeah, I know "Underrated???" yes Jackie Chan himself doesn't like it! So it's underrated.

Overrated: There Will Be Blood
Solid movie, with some phenomenal shots and top-level acting... But holy fuck, it just drags forever, and then ends. Seen it twice and it never felt cohesive. Definitely don't think it's worthy of the praise it gets from some people.
Under-appreciated: Mulholland Drive. Just amazing. A cluster-fuck of awesome.
And to answer the, "no 20 year old's know about Fight Club". Just about anyone I have ever known who is currently in their 20s has seen Fight Club.
Ps. I'd say Snatch as underrated, but just about any guy I have ever met who I thought was a solid person has seen and loved Snatch. So I don't think that works at all.
