First thought: ya, interest rates suck unless we're talking money market accounts.

Second thought: wait, 10K down?? How much are (admittedly premium with Aprilia) liter class sportbikes going for these days?? $26K for the 'factory' trim?? YEESH

Third thought: I had a 2000 RSV Mille Aprilia. It really was a fantastic bike. Went like a Ducati with the reliability of a Honda and arguably better looks than either. With just an Akro can on it it sounded like it should be sitting on the WSB grid. Magnificent.

Fourth thought: what are these new ones putting out? 190HP??? Dayum. Hope these fancy new electrons can handle that, because even 20 years ago me wouldn't have been able to deal with that much poke very well, methinks.

Fifth thought: 20 years ago me would probably scoff at that notion and also current me's great satisfaction with my 25 year old Harley. Current me is amazed at how much fun can be had even at low speeds on that thing, but also glad that sportbike skills were learned early and apply to this current hulking beast.
I paid 22k for my s1000rr 2 years ago. That's my favorite sport bike ever. The Aprilla just has a more aggressive seating position that I kinda want for speed days. Electronics are top tier now with these bikes. Pushing just over 200hp with my s1000 with all its upgrades. It rides like a dream. 25 years ago I bought a R1 for 11k lol. That was a beast.

How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and I think that would be terribly uncomfortable for me.
They are low profile. They're a retro build of the 1940's bobber style. I'm 5'6 and easily flat foot this thing and then some.

End of an era sorta. Selling my H2 and not replacing it w/ another currently. Still have a few I lust after wanting to try, but I think I'm too fragile now for dirt bikes, borrowing a neighbor I could tell I wouldn't be able to stop from trying to continue trying to push harder and harder until I wreck out. And for street, Oklahoma is just so shit and more dangerous than Colorado was. (Debris, animals, shit roads, more random weather, and most notably "altima" drivers and white trash meth heads.

Bummer the 300cc 2 stroke was a lot of fun but like 15k out the door which is madness for a motocross bike. All their bikes were the most expensive msrp and while the power of the stock 125 was insane the price always kept me away. They weren’t any more reliable than any competitor but pushed out cool/new shit like fuel injected 2 stroke.

Where I got the article a few people said they got a big discount on one in stock. Warranty would be iffy and parts iffy but I guess if the discount was enough.

I can hear and smell it already.

The Kawasaki KX two-stroke returns! Saturday, January 25th, just before everything kicks off at the Anaheim 2 Supercross, Kawasaki shares an abbreviated press release showing countless comments asking for a two-stroke model, and then Kawasaki replies, “We heard you” with a two-stroke revving up in the background.

Damn they actually banned motorcycles from running the nurburgring because it was dangerous running with cars. That's like iconic for people to run that. Didn't even decide to run a motorcycle only time.

Hey all, I love anything and everything motorcycles. Hoping to get my first soon. Those SV650s are hard to come by, I might go the 600 route.

Sorta good news for KTM. When I left Colorado I sold both my bikes and haven't had the itch since but the 2025 390 Adventure R sure is giving it a go even with KTM brand issues.
Just as an aside, for a site that pretends to be where rugged, adventure seeking motorcycle enthusiasts gather, that is the gayest motorcycle forum on the internet and they'll ban you for saying so. I got a 4 month vacation for using the word 'libtard' because evidently it's a derivative of the word 'retard' which for some woke retarded reason is verboten.
