i've run a similar deck in some other events (singleton, Ravnica constrcuted, the ladder once in awhile when i'm bored) so i knew it was stronger than you'd think, but undefeated was a surprise to me. NOTE THO -- i somehow managed to not play a single Oko commander deck.

some of the cards in there^ are in there just because they're pet cards of mine, and are replaceable.

(edit -- kept playing now that i'm back home, finally got my first loss, against a Nissa deck, so i'm 8-1 with Niv^)

They will have to ban Oko from Brawl. Yes decks can be made that beat his ass but his +1 ability has such a devastating effect on this format. I play him for daily wins because half of the match-ups instant concede to him. Eventually they will Ban him entirely. How his +1 was not a -1 is mind boggling. I wonder if that was a print run error that they were forced to let slide.

Don't really care about Brawl, but Oko is pretty dumb and I'm not sure how it got through testing as it is. Make it 3 loyalty instead of 4 and make the +1 ability cost 0 instead and it would still be an excellent walker.

i've been jamming so much Brawl the last few days and still am only at i think 5 or 6 losses. Niv Mizzet, Reborn is seriously bonkers, can't believe i'm the only one i see online that's figured it out. better than Oko imo.

been experimenting with recording gameplay, i'm going to upload some to YouTube.

Niv vs. Nissa. got lucky and had Oko in my opening hand after a Mulligan, so this video perhaps might make the deck look stronger than it is, but hey.

realized i'm dumb and don't understand how recording this stuff works, i have music playing over most of my recordings, not sure if that means i shouldn't upload them

Yeah the "worst" part about Niv for Brawl is how many games end with the opponent Conceding while close to full life because they can see my whole hand and know they're fucked. I don't often get to actually "play" a lot haha.

So it's kind of interesting how Questing beast got pushed out of Standard for the most part because of how poorly it interacts with the Oko decks. If you combine the SCG Atlanta Classic top 8 and the top 16 from the arena MCQ weekend you have a combined 70 Okos in the 24 decks and 3 total Questing Beasts all of which were in the Single G/B adventure deck that top 16 the MCQ.

i let my rank slip the last couple seasons, so i found myself starting from Bronze this season, and holy fuck, Oko is everywhere even at fucking bronze. it's insanity.

if you want to make it a little more interesting and meme-y, you can add a couple of the 1GGG Viviens that let you dig in your sideboard. personally for how i'm approacing BO1 lately it's a little slow for me, but i was having fun with it when i was more casual 2-3 seasons ago, if you want to go that route.

Got my 5 wins in 7 games, plus the deck has a winning percentage of at least 7/10 beyond that. I've only lost to bad draws and won games I really shouldn't have.
