I hear the SJWs rule some corners of MTG social media. I don't participate so haven't seen it myself, but I hear about it enough and I've had nonMagic people come to me asking what's the deal with MtG toxic community. Shame that they're becoming our ambassadors. I feel like dork culture is finally becoming openly accepted yet I can't help but feel our welcome isn't yet secured.
Also, I don't get what the big deal TWD is. Pretty much since the beginning there have been chase promos. I like that these are allowed to be played. Existing for the sake to exist is even more lame. If they become too in demand, they could see functional reprints. For all we know, TWD imposed this restriction, like No, no other card name may be on our IP cards (ala Godzilla frames).

Just because they fucked up in the past doesn't give them license to do this shit intentionally, especially with the Nexus fiasco so close in the rearview mirror. Yes of course they are going to reprint these TWD cards with a proper MTG skin - they are going to reprint EVERYTHING not on the RL for that sweet sweet chedda (and who can even be 100% sure about the RL?). Putting new unique format legal cards behind such paywalls is a dick move, but they don't give a shit about the game anymore. They figured out how to milk this cow dry, and they will.
Just makes me wonder when the best time to exit will be.

you mean corporate didn't insta ban a cardset for the product they paid money to license and is currently selling as we speak? that would be a bit much for anyone.
They also seem to be trying to make multiple license deals lately so it would interfere with their concept they've been working on for years.
