We are going to come out of this event with a meta that includes some very decent control options and midrangey-tons-o-planeswalkers Mardu variants pushing the ramp oriented Devotion strategies down.

Time to play face derp aggro. Gotta keep those B/U decks honest.

Hah this interview. Kid has 2 losses and when asked how he likes his deck: "Eh, it's ok. My opponents have been mulliganing a lot."

They need to copy Channel Fireball's GP coverage style - recording a 2nd match and showing it after the main match is over so they can then show it during all this downtime they have.

Does anyone like listening to them talk? (beyond themselves obviously)

If you've got the kind of store where everyone is a temporarily embarrassed professional player it'll be overrepresented, they'll get murdered by silly aggro derps (because it's a FNM, there's always derps with aggro), and be salty about it the rest of the night. This U/B archetype is very, very good but it reeks as being the kind of flavor of the month that gets people into trouble. I'm sorta assuming it'll come out on top as well which very well might not be the case and instead everyone is going to run around stuffing their decks with Brimaz, Elspeth, Sarkhan, Butcher of the Horde, Rabblemaster stuff and make the format appear ungodly expensive.

edit -

It isn't very well suited for aggro environments. FNM is usually filled with aggro
What he said.

I think campaigning for your opponent to get a warning should be considered unsportsmanlike and be a warnable offense.

Sure. Not that Oiso didn't deserve a warning. He deserved a warning 100%. He played a second land for the turn and that land was very relevant to the board state. It's just that if I was the judge and I was standing there the opinion of the other player is both unsolicited and unwanted. Do not campaign for your opponent to get warned. That isn't your job. Your job is to play.

Going to FNM for me is going to be very odd at first I think. We have no one in my play group who plays the same thing all the time. Everyone plays every archetype, except maybe combo.

I don't think the U/B control deck is a good option for the average player after this event, and I can't wait to crush all the 'unknown pro' players that start running it at FNM and IQs around here. It was a meta call by team pantheon, that becomes a lot worse once it's a known entity. Control beats midrange, enough so that even a 'bad' control deck has a big advantage. This field was full of midrange and it still didn't win.

The Esper deck that barely missed top 8 is a better choice if you have to run control, as it had better matchups against everything except the U/B control. Or, personally, Jeskai control seems legit. Cut the mantis riders and rabblemasters for end hostilities, a couple keranos and more removal (banishing light, singing bell strike, devouring light, pillar of light, etc..). Dig through time is a good enough card advantage engine, and using your burn to close out a game quickly instead of slowly grinding it out. Oh, or maybe you have a transform sideboard with 4 mantis rider and 4 rabblemaster and switch into jeskai wins when they board out their removal.

That said, jeskai wins or a abzan midrange variant are clearly the top 2 decks for now, but the next best decks are VERY close. The difference is less then the normal difference between a tier 1 and tier 1.5 deck. Jeskai combo, mardu midrange variants, R/W tokens and UWx control are all in the mix and may be advantaged if jeskai wins and abzan have targets on their head.
