How do you get 7 mana fixers in a draft? Online is really weird.
It depends in part how you value them. The last physical draft where I went five color I opened up a pack of shit and a tri-land and took the tri-land. I then went on to take six more lands in a row and scooped up a couple others before the end. I knew right away I was on the five color plan and wasn't going to draft anything that wasn't either a A) a fixer or B) awesome.

I defintely agree. I dont MODO and in my playgroup you'll never see 1 person get that much color fixing. I guess I should be trying to take advantage by forcing 2 colors more often.

It's 3 hours later and I'm still salty from losing Round 2, Game 3 to a topdecked Crippling Chill into a topdecked Arrow Storm. This deck was fucking amazing. I did have to pass a Mardu Ascendancy to get the tri-land, which was one of the hardest picks I've ever made in this format.

It's from commander so only legal in Legacy decks. I don't think it will make the cut but you never know.
Well no, not for any official game play. But our core group has a lot of modern and legacy games for fun because this game is actually about having fun *gasp*.

So, I've heard that Wizards might be reprinting some old favorites to monetize Legacy for themselves? Any truth to this?

I'd love to play in Legacy, but holy shit is it expensive as fuck.

Not sure where you'd hear that rumor. Certainly people are clamoring for it, but I wouldn't count on anything in the near term.

Reprint Policy

If they are, it won't be anything needed like the alpha duels unless Hasbro is putting the screws to Wizards and wants more money. I doubt that is the case though as Wizards was one of the only reasons why the company turned a profit last year IIRC and from what I have heard, the corporate big wigs know not to mess with the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Don't see it. Game keeps growing no reason to shake confidence by scraping the reserve list. Honestly it would hurt LGSs more than any player. My LGS has a binder they bought via a mortgage of legacy. It was worth it I looked at just the first page closed it and put that fucking thing down haha. Dunno what they have left since I haven't seen the owners since I got back yesterday but I imagine there's a large number of shops holding thousands in legacy that would lose their asses.

They really wouldn't. Prices would adjust, but the increased demand would more than make up for it.

It would screw the small investors/collectors (but how many of those intend to ever sell theirs, outside of desperation honestly?) - but the shops would take a short term loss for long term increase.

You can see how the value of cards drops off drastically when it goes from Standard -> Modern -> Legacy because of the interest level in each, which is largely a matter of staples being "overcosted" to the average player. You start decreasing the cost of the staples of a format and you should see the values of things within those formats increase respectively as the interest in each is renewed.

Imagine if they lost 90% of the value on P9 but then the commons and uncommons doubled in value because of the renewed interest in the formats - the stores would make a TON more than the rare P9 sale because of the large amount of product that would suddenly start moving.

I'm not saying that they'll do it, or that they should do it (for reasons of screwing SMALL collectors as stated above) - but as Heylel mentioned, the demand would make up for it - sure, those individual reprinted cards might take a bath, but it could increase the value of the sets in general - which is HUGE for LGSs.
